Burek said: My opinion, but it is important to say I've never played Dark Souls or similar games, and am not very experienced to compare it to other, similar games. Also, this all is based on about 5 hours if play time... The game is good, I like the numerous options for customization of every aspect of your character. Plenty of stats to use your XP for, and the progress can be felt as you upgrade. I like the idea of weight, trading off protection and/or atrack speed for mobility. You do have ranged attack (gauntlet shooting explosives of sorts). The game is not linear completely, there are many sidequests you can do, and a lot of areas to go to explore and get sidetracked in. However, there is no map (at least I cannot find it), and unless you follow the main mission, it is easy to get a bit lost, as many areas look very similar. I often got turned around, as often you exit through a previously locked door in an earlier area as you search the underground. Plenty of loot and collectibles, in this short time I already have a decent selection of armor pieces and weapons. But... The game is slow. Much slower than I'm used to. Even if you go with lighter setup, it still takes time to get around, and for your character to move/strike/dodge. Not intolerably bad, but ties in to another point...enemies are tough and require patience (which I generally lack), and respawn should you die even if you resurrect at a later checkpoint. Meaning that while exploring, you tend to have to fight same enemies, even after you kill them, and some of those are very tough... Not unbearably tough, but when you need to attack/parry/defend for a few minutes to chip away their health/armor, it starts to get tedious... There could be more, if there are questions, I'll gladly answer, but I decided to give the game a few months rest after 5 hours, just started to get a bit tedious, cumbersome and repetitive... But as I said, I'm not a fan and never really played games like this, so.... 2.5/5 |
You should really play Demons souls, Dark Souls and Dark Souls 2. And then Bloodborne. You are missing an entire piece of world!

I don't have a machine to play those, but even when I had I was never attracted to them. I am a casual player, and would have enjoyed this game much more if I could have put it on easy/casual... This is just too slow of a progress and too much repetition for me to have fun...
Shared the game with a friend who loves those games, but mostly to kill time before Far Cry and GTA...
Will probably get Bloodborne like that as well, it seems much more interesting, and they did say it will have easy difficulty mode, so I'll be sure to enjoy it more...
