March 2008 Wii = March 2015 PS4.
March 2010 Wii = March 2017 PS4.

Wii was launched in Nov 2006 and PS4 in Nov 2013.

Yes, but the title of "Fastest-selling console" varies depending on what time frame you use. We could still say the Wii is the fastest-selling console if we count it as 9 months after launch.

As noted in the wii-PS4 first 2 years sales thread, I believe the PS4 can surpass the wiss sales. Its done it so far and people keep doubting. If the PS4 dosent manage to outsell the wii by the timelines given the doubts who were wrong the other 10 times are the first ones to say "i told you so"

Both amazing feats. Though the Wii was selling out and had tougher competition. I didn't expect the ps4 to hold out quite this long. I wonder if I can find that thread

I'd actually argue the wii had no competition. The only person  i know who has a wii and no other 7th gen console is my sister and she literally just uses it to entertain guests lol

Most people had a wii plus another console. It wasn't an either or situation back then because the system was so different and equally cheap.
