Yes, Nintendo are doing just fine. Given what's going on at the moment it looks like they are just going to be doing better and better financially for the rest of this year and into next year.

As for Wii U dominating this holiday... do you really think it's going to be able to sell like 4 million plus in November and December, because that's what it's going to need to do to beat the PS4. Oh, but you said dominate. Dominate wouldn't be beating the PS4 a little bit would it? No, dominate would mean beating the PS4 by alot, so how much exactly are you expecting the Wii U to sell?

Yes i believe it sell a little less than 4 million 

When a company says 'sold', it means 'sold to retailers', i.e., what we call shipped. We should always assume it is shipped, unless the company specifically says 'sold to the consumer'. 

Yes, I agree the Wii U will get a boost this holiday because parents will be buying for their kids, but there will be parents buying PS4 for their kids, too. Given the PS4's current momentum, not to mention the bundles and deals on offer, it's unlikely that the Wii U will even match PS4 sales over the holiday worldwide.

I am also a parent with 2 kids, and the majority of my friends are also parents. Here, my kids' friends are all talking about PS3 and PS4, not Wii U.

As an owner of both, I can safely say that Wii U is the superior platform when compared to the PS4 based on software library alone.


Well no shit, the Wii U has been out a year longer. By the end of 2015 that advantage will be erased.

It did 1.6m in Nov plus Dec last year. I expect that to atleast double due to amiibo, smash , mk8 and the three 'supportive' games Watchdogs, Sonic and Capt Toad.

Maybe even 3m. Either way.....I predict it will sell 10m by end of year. Personally hoping for something like 10.2m though.

Not sure how WiiU will perform on Black Friday / Holidays.... but I´m sure Nintendo is just fine. 3DS is still selling a lot.

First and foremost OP, the Wii and Wii U are two consoles serving two completely different crowds. The Wii was a casual fad. They only wanted the casual games and it boosted first party sales. It bundles galore.

Second of all Nintendo is doing fine but not reaching where they want to be (despite having a year head start) because they have no third party and why does Nintendo not have third party? Easy.

Nintendo has no third party because they suck at working together with third party. They don't even address their concerns or needs at all. Nintendo is all about Nintendo and then third parties later. In 2011 third party devs were starting to demand specific hardware saying that a wave of new games for the next gen were going to need at least 8GB of ram and just overall more powerful GPU than the last gens. Cliffy B of Epic, Ubisoft and some others spoke out about it. NIntendo as usual made the most cheap and affordable hardware that they could so they could jump out of the gate and pass the last gen consoles. They went boasting on the media and the media served them a handful of doubt because it was said that the other next gen consoles were rumored to be quite powerful. Nintendo wanted to associate themselves with the COD franchise saying they were the best device and most powerful device to get the game. Of course they were right, but no one cared because once the PS4 showed up on February at the Sony experience in 2013 no body gave a damn about the Wii U version because Nintendo skimped on the details of the Wii U by not working with third party.

How the hell are you going to make a core friendly console and leave out the developer base the core mostly tend to support? WTH?

No one is going to dumb down their games for the company who has been the most ignorant to them since the 90's.

Oh and now Nintendo wants to find the best graphics architects for their next gen console?

Nintendo loved the Wii  money, but they expressed regret about losing that potential core COD audience and the profitabilty off of third party that MS and Sony had. They were never the it console to when the real competitions were happening outside of Super Smash.
