Hi there, I have been a loyal customer to the Sony camp in console gaming for over 10 years now with absolutely no gripes at all, other than waiting for a damned RPG.

 

I have big problems with the 360 regarding its hardware, but absolutely love some of the games in it's library, namely Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey. The former is coming to PS3 so I decided to not make a purchase, but now I always want to play LO, even though I know nothing about it besides the fact that it was made by the creator of FF (before he was dropped foloowing Spirit's Within) and the FF games from before that time are some of my favorite all time. Not to mention this game has great music by none other than Nobuo Uematsu.

 As a HUGE fan of JRPGs and turned based RPG should I just pick up a 360 anyways? Not sure if 1 game is worth it in the long run, what do you guys think? I care nothing for shooters so this system has always been dead in the water... until this.

 

Any price drops in the future? I can afford it no problem, but I would hate to think it is a waste of time. :(

LO is not worth picking up a console for.

I doubt ME would interest me, not a big fan of the WRPG, I know I played Oblivion and I thought it was one of the worst games I have ever played.

 

What is the battle system like? I am a big fan of turn based combat and HUGE story driven RPG's like XenoSaga, Xenogears, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Shadow Hearts, Disgaea, Valkyrie Profile 2, etc...

 

I would probably play GoW, not sure about Halo though since I never touched either of the first 2. Fable : The Lost Chapters is on my laptop at the moment, but I seem to get bored after about 10 minutes of play.

 

My girflriend really wants this console for Viva Pinata, our Laptops run it like crap.

 For some reason my girlfriend believes it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.


So would it be smarter to let LO go and stick with my PS3? I am really drooling for a good JRPG right now without needing to replay my PS1 and PS2 classics.

You should never buy a console for one game. My advice is get a friend who has a 360 and buy the game yourself if you have to. If you offer to give it to him after you are done he probably won't mind you spending 40+ hours on his console.
