Picky? So you'd be totally ok if Yoshi's Island in MK8 looked exactly like the GC version but in 720P?

It's a 2D game, it shouldn't be hard to update the visuals at all, but they chose not to.

Don't get me started on those butt ugly Pacman stages on the Wii U. Maybe Sakurai needs another half year for this game lol.

I'm saying that no one expected the retro stages to be updated, the fact that they are should be appreciated.

It should be common sense that they're graphically updated. I think I've also seen more retro stages than new ones, I hope they're holding back on the new ones.

Not really, it has never been done in previous games. All they did in Melee was clean it up some edges.

Then don't bother putting them in, or add them as DLC when you have the time to actually put some effort into it. Like MK8 did with the retro courses. I don't like half assed content.

Your logic baffles me.

Pffff, another 3ds port with upped resolution! (aka MH3GU) Show us a REAL nextgame in 1080p on WiiU and we'll talk!

Clear and true trolling. I salute you.

Too bad it doesn't have a real Adventure Mode though..............at least it looks pretty.

Well if I wanted to play a game with GC graphics I'd play on my GC. I expect more from a Nintendo title.

For the record, I think most new stages look fine. Love the Metroid, Donkey Kong, Megaman, Game & Wario, Star Fox and Yoshi's Woolly world stages. I hope they also add a 3D World and a Splatoon stage.

I wouldn't say they are gamecube graphics. This game was built from the ground up, so they mimicked the gamecube style, but it is better textures.

The pessimist in me is still skeptical that this will actually end up being native 1080p @ 60fps.

Digital Foundry will tell the tale...

Well. It may be more demanding than you know.

Alright then, how many 8 player local multiplayer games have you made?

Here's something for you to think about: If such a game was as demanding to make as you seem to imply, how could the game be able to run at that resolution and framerate?

And just to make sure: magic doesn't exist.

I'm just going to point to Assassin's Creed Unity for the PC for this argument.

According to the specs needed to run that game you need an ultra high end computer of rediculous proportions, and we all know that is bullshit.  Horrible optimization.

Oh. Alright then. The game is the most outstanding piece of magically engineered software ever created. And it shouldn't even be possible for the Wii U to run it at such a resolution and high framerate. In fact, it would probably be impossible for any hardware in the world to run it like Nintendo managed to make it run on the Wii U. Each and every of its graphical assets are over CGI quality, and the A.I. is better than even the Terminator's T1000.

It isn't because the game isn't demanding on the hardware that it's possible for it to run as it does. It's because Nintendo use obscure arcanic programming wizardry.

Sorry. I was mistaken.
