I think since the model number will be different i doubt it is just the same thing without spider man.

Amazon now shows what is presumably the current packaging for the 40GB model. Looks the same, minus the Spiderman 3 pack in.
The Blu-Ray disc pack in seemed more of an attempt to raise consumer awareness of Blu-Ray and PS3 BR-D playback capabilities over the holiday season rather than to add perceived value to the console.

 That is identical to the one in Europe, maybe they just got it from there

I dont know why there is such a buzz around the white console, i think it looks crap, black is alot more sleeker.

^ to be honest PS3 white or black is ugly to me as they both look like george forman grills but I just want white ti fit my PC and other consoles in colour.
