3DS, New 3DS, Smash, Pokemon. I may be wrong but I say 3DS will win.
Also honest question what does the Ps4 have coming to it this holiday?

Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Dragon Age, Far Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto 5 and LittleBigPlanet 3 to name a few.

The PS4 is obviously going to move more hardware this quarter, it won't even be close.

This. It was an incredibly stupid and painfully obvious mistake that Nintendo did by not releasing the new models in the west this year. The only people who will be buying 3ds systems this holiday are going to be uninformed consumers who don't really know that a newer model is coming out soon.

Maybe they couldnt release it in the west this holiday at all. Looking at japan's problem

A corporation as big as Nintendo should be able to produce enough new 3ds systems for a WW release. 
 

Yeah, but its not happening as by judging N3DS XL in japan major shortages. They cant even supply its own country, thats why it seems as though only Australia is getting N3DS this year, they dont need alot of shipments, msybe 200k-400k this year there.


To be honest I think its fine as is. Japan and the west are moving along different trajectories. 3DS hardware sales in Japan became quite software inelastic, i.e it was stalling regardless of big releases. The market was reaching a satuation I don't think we've seen quite yet in the west. It needed a hardware intervention in japan, the west simply needed/needs more games (Smash, Pokemon).
