Portal 2- Simply a joy to play- best most inventive puzzle game topped off with hilarious writing

Metroid Prime 1 and 2- most immersive atmospheric adventure games ever made

Mario Galaxy 1 and 2- pinnacle of platformer design, easily the most diverse and inventive platformers of all time

Banjo and Kazooie- for as dated as this game is it still brings a grin to my face, just ozzing with charm from begining to end

Jet Force Gemini- First ever third person first person hybrid with amazing music, art design, exploration, a seriously underrated gem, etc, etc

MDK 2- Best action shooter of it's generation (and best dream cast game by a long shot) with amazing gunplay, art, music, and overall gameplay design

Shadow of the Colossus- No words can do this game justice. Just EPIC!

Soul Reaver- best story/dialog and actors ever!

Honorable mentions go to metroid, super metroid, super mario land, blaster master, oddworld, the last of us, gears 1-2, uncharted 1-2, wind waker, killzone 2, silent hill 1-2, pikmin, wipeout xl, f-zero, re 1-4, street fighter 2 turbo, doom, bloody roar, and powerstone; all of which are master pieces in there own right!

For me I'd say Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2, the level design is so great, the boss battles, music and graphics are fantastic, everything is excellent, both games are really fun. Other games that I'd like to mention are Chrono Trigger (great story, battle system, soundtrack, characters, pacing, everything is really well done), The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (incredible level/dungeons design, fantastic pacing, charming story, amazing boss battles, my favorite is Twinrova, side content, memorable soundtrack) and A Link to the Past (again, great dungeons, boss battles, soundtrack, side content, pacing)

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (This game is a masterclass in game design, and have inspired a ludicrous amount of game developers and was also the game that made me a videogame enthusiast)

Heroes of Might and Magic III (To this day i still look to this game as perhaps the best fantasy strategy game ever made)

F- Zero GX (This is probably the most enjoyable arcade racing game i have ever played, and holds up even to this day)

but you cannot pick the best game ever created? I dont know about you but a game that is well created and is really fun tends to be the best game.


I dont know bout you but I think that the game I had the most fun with and is crated good is the best game ever. Seems silly to me. Its like saying to me, you enjoyed this game and its created good but you cant pic it because it has a huge story.

Maybe people like games that are very scripted. I dont get this thread. If anyone can clue me in..... well you earn lots of internet points

its hard to chose. either between mario 64 and red dead redemption. God of war 3 and TLoU might also be it.

Link to the past and Metroid prime for me. Both are games I would struggle to fault in anyway

for me, runescape. it has kept me coming back for close to a decade. its not as popular now a days but the settings, lore and excellents quests are top notch.

league of legends is a close second. easy to get into, tough as fuck to master (gold 3)
