My sentiment exactly. Innovation (if you can call it that) for the sake of innovation is pointless, and can often back fire quite dramatically if people don't want the spoon you're trying to force feed them with.

Build a good console, then worry about 'new' ideas like Project Morpheus or PSNow later. MS in particular would probably be doing a lot better if they'd focused on the X1 itself, and then moved their attention to Kinect 2 and their online concepts later. Then if people don't like something, you don't need to worry about it weighing you down.

I agree with this. Giving consumers choice is a great thing to do. Sony offers both a camera & Remote play but they aren't forced. I forgot all about the PS Camera.

It just doesn't feel special right out of the box. I was like "This is it?"

As I said, I am a supporter of innovation when done right. Nintendo still hasn't done the Gamepad justice & Microsfot ditched Kinect. So, I guess no innovation is better than half ass innovation. With that said, I see potential in both the Gamepad & Kinect.

I agree. It hasn't got the features and that would be fine if it had the games, but it doesn't have that either yet. Next year it might earn its sales but I guess Sony's marketing has just been really effective this time.

It's is the most powerfull next gen console and there are plenty of third party titles which happen to run a bit better on PS4 and playstatation is simply a more powerfull brand than xbox, every playstation console always starts slow and ends really strong, people know this and bought one in advance.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

It currently has 52 games that've sold 10K units or more, totalling 36.05m* in unit sales.  You may not 'like' the games that are out for it.  But to say it doesn't have games is not only disingenuous, but willfully ignorant.

Yep. Also it´s the best selling console wich speaks a lot about the "gamer" population.

^this. Nintendo will easily walk away this gen with most of the top rated and acclaimed titles, as well as the most exclusives. Just like the Gamecube it will be the console that struggles through the gen, but once the gen is over and people see the library and what they had missed out on there is going to be a HUGE surge in demand for the console.

As for us who bought the console, we'll already have an awesome controller waiting for us to carry to whatever the next system is.

I would say that the WiiU has the gimmick controller. Other than that, it is way under powered. The reality is, that hasn't stopped it from having good games. That is something lost on people nowadays.

The PS4 does seem like just a PS3.5. The thing is, if you buy the XB1 without Kinect, it too is basically the same as a suped up 360.

THis is all about the fact that all of the consoles are just too under powered to "impress" us with their capabilities. Sure, the games look a little better. But do they really seem "Next Gen"? Not really. Even with a lot of small new features, the biggest one is gameplay. In that regard, non of the new consoles have really shown that there is a big improvement YET. When that happens, people will be more impressed.

It is near the end of the end....

PS4

-The first console to have a constantly recording option so you can record your gameplay and share it on the web xb1 can do that, too
-The first controller to have a Touchpad that works as a button at the same time  lol yes, its a cheap version of the wii u controller
-The first console with an upcoming VR headset u got a point here, but this is not ready right now.
-The First console that will let you play other friends games on their systems through shareplay and that will transform local MP into online MP dont get the second part, but yes a cool feature. but xb1 got the home console thing and family sharing should come out before the drm 180,  too (and maybe it will, just like the ps4)

Sony not only made a console that had unique not before seen features (on a console) but is still adding them, since Shareplay will come soon in Update 2.00 and VR headset could come next year

Yeah the PS4 is soooo LAME.... /S.

Edit: you can also play your PS4 games on a Vita or a PSTV through Remote play...

just my thoughts on that points...

xb1 can do that, too -  Thats why i said the FIRST ONE TO since Sony announced that feature on February 2013 months before the X1 announcement and the PS4 came out a week before the X1...

lol yes, its a cheap version of the wii u controller - Again go a page or two back to see my opinion of the Touchpad on a response i made to Kitler

- Why are you comparing this feature with the Xbox 1?, we are talking about the PS4 here... and as of right now the Xbox has nothing like this announced so far... (Family sharing doesnt work the same way as Shareplay does... Family sharing gives you the option to lend some of your games to your "family" while shareplay allows a friend to take control over your game from their homes on their PS4 and it also transforms Local Multiplayer to Online Multiplayer)

Given the wording use in the OP and the volatile nature of this subject it has been decided that it would be best to lock this topic.

Signature goes here!

Wasn't the thread about the Wii U being the worst 8th gen console supposed to be funny? That died out rather quick. This though, is HILARIOUS!
