MS in particular would probably be doing a lot better if they'd focused on the X1 itself, and then moved their attention to Kinect 2 and their online concepts later. I agree with this. Giving consumers choice is a great thing to do. Sony offers both a camera & Remote play but they aren't forced. I forgot all about the PS Camera.
It just doesn't feel special right out of the box. I was like "This is it?" 
As I said, I am a supporter of innovation when done right. Nintendo still hasn't done the Gamepad justice & Microsfot ditched Kinect. So, I guess no innovation is better than half ass innovation. With that said, I see potential in both the Gamepad & Kinect.
