JustBeingReal said: Personally I'm pretty sure Uncharted will release sooner rather than later next year, all this talk from haters wishing it's going to be delayed is ridiculous, it already looked pretty polished at the reveal and the game's been in development longer than any past game in the series. I wouldn't be shocked if it comes out before E3 next year and Sony will have GT7 as their title to market for the holidays at E3, so we'll get a decent stage demo, alongside something else that won't be announced until that conference. Ratchet & Clank will likely be shown at this Destination Playstation event, IMO that will release a month of two before E3, Alienation and Rime will be mixed in there too. TLG or maybe Agent releasing late next year would be awesome. Shinobi602 has been pretty reliable as far as "insiders" go and he seems pretty sure that Horizon will get pushed back to 2016, so maybe that will be a Feb 2016 release. I wouldn't be shocked if we get a new Sly Cooper game unveiled at one of the big conferences next year, with a release date alongside the movie. |
I would. I'd be massively shocked! They need to actually announce the date a bit in advance, and considering how little we've seen so far I don't think they would even announce the release date until at least E3.

Naughty Dog doesn't need to do anything of the sort, not like this is common practice for Sony nowadays, I mean just look at Bloodborne and LBP3. Bloodborne had details leaked a bit before E3 this year, then it's coming out in the following Feb next year (that's only 8 months later for a far more Niche game than Uncharted), LBP3 had nothing leaked before E3, was announced at E3 (again this year) and it's coming out next month (that's only around 5 months after tha game was announced).
Sony could show a load of new gameplay at Destination Playstation and release the game in March if it's ready and that's what they wanted, hell TLOU: Remastered was announced for PS4 April 9th 2014, then it released the the 29th of July this year, that's a far less well established franchise than Uncharted. We didn't see anything in the way of even cutscenes until much closer to the release and no proper gameplay until like a week or so before that game game out on PS4.
Uncharted is a well established franchise, past games in the series were announced the year before they were released, this one was announced last November, this November would be a full year without the game's release happening.
If UC4 were to release at the end of May next year, it would be 18 months after the game was first announced.
There's still a little under 7 and a half months until the end of May next year.
BTW from a game marketing POV it's better to launch while you have a big amount of hype for a game than when that hype dies down, because the game's existance would be much fresher in peolpe's minds.
So far we've already had the map teaser video last year and we've seen in-engine footage, that's running on PS4, one big explosive trailer and a stage demo early next year would be plenty to make that game sell like hot cakes, TBH a release date and a few details about the game's setting would be more than enough for fans of the series to lap this game up.

^This x10! People are overestimating Sony's concern to counter Halo 5. Do you have any idea how massive the sales lead will be by the time Halo comes out? lol and they are underestimating the momentum Sony has and power of Uncharted to sell like gangbusters when it drops no matter when that is. Sony has figured out how to spread its exclusives out and Ithink they found the perfect release window for Naughty Dog wit The Last of Us PS3.

Thanks. :)
I agree, I mean Halo 5 will be a big seller for Microsoft, but Sony has the Multiplats locked up in their favor this generation, GT7 will no doubt be a huge seller and that may very well be released next year, that can easily be a game that sells more than 10 million units, if not hit A-Spec numbers.
There could be any number of surprizes from 1st party developers and new IPs that hit good numbers from Sony's devs or external studios.
This Uncharted will likely sell bigger numbers than past games in the series, just off of the back of the bigger hardware sales rate over PS3 (it's potentially more than 100% more than PS3's 1st years), next year will likely be even bigger, so software sales should increase as a result of that and multiplat software sales will likely be even more in PS4's favor.
Sony has a huge amount of games coming out next year, exclusive to the platform, Xbox One's line-up right now is actually a fraction of that coming for PS4, with Sony hardly announcing much from 1st party.
The most I would say is Sony maybe needs to keep an eye, so as to keep the pace they've had so far and build that gap even further next year.
Games like WiLD, the new Ratchet & Clank, Rime and so on will get good attention and they show Sony wants to give gamers variety and depth to the catalog they're building.
Uncharted will be one of those gateway games, a definite system seller that will cause sales spikes to the rest of the catalog available to PS4 owners and new gamers awaiting big exclusive games.
