I don't mind porn and of course I would flinch if I knew some person in my family was in the business. However, I wouldn't be mad or have any bad thoughts against them. I would just make sure I never viewed it. eww. Except that one cousin, mmm, she's hot. :) Too bad she's a cousin.

Anyways, no biggie. It's just a job for sensual entertainment that too many people enjoy. It may need better regulation and inner controls for safety, etc. But, not being in the "circle" makes me unaware of what happens when the camera's are off.

Its perfectly ok for a person or couple to enjoy porn behind closed doors. Sex feels good for a reason, so we would want to do it a lot. To ensure the survival of our species. Porn adds to that pleasure and wanting. Like anything else in life it has a time and place and can/will be abused by some.

Those of you who think it shouldn't exist really just need to grow up.

Fine I'll take the slap in the face over that one. But your going tell me theres not a significant difference between porn protistution and any other job when it come to the persons stability.

As long as actors and actresses aren't forced, porn is OK for me. Selling their body? Doesn't it happen in even worst ways for dangerous, underpaid and wearing jobs? People marrying for money don't sell their body and whole life in an even worst way, mocking the marriage too? I don't think porn is bad, but even if it was, it would be a lesser bad compared to others. And if we read the Gospels, hypocrisy is a much worse sin than lust, so bad that Jesus forgave adulteresses and condemned hypocrites.

So you are saying that people who watch porn are more likely to become rapists, i think its the other way around and that rapists are just more likely to watch porn and are do not watch porn and think "hey, i should rape smeone!" if they are that unstable then they are obviously not mentaly stable.

 You, among many other people in this thread, bring up this "point."  No where is it suggested that Porn should be outlawed.  This isn't a political thread.  It is a personal moral thread.

 Stability how?  Mental stability?  It depends on how society treats them.

Otherwise it depends on their own personal "morals".

For example prostitution.

In some cultures prostituion was an honored tradition.   People who were prostitutes felt honored.

Only in societies as ours where people treat it as a negative thing do people feel negative outside pressures.  Even then this doesn't effect all people.  Just those who aren't strong enough of their own character to form their own morals and have to rely on socital norms.

Prositution and Porn aren't inherenty degrading, it's degrading only because people make it as such.  The people against porn in large parts are the people making it a negative force in SOME of it's participants lives.

Notice how basically no male porn stars are sexually abused or feel bad about what they do. (Or at least this is how it is perceived)  This only applies to women.

Why is this?  Society.
