Forums - Gaming - Titanfall vs Watch Dogs vs Destiny Hype Showdown

Most hyped?

Destiny, duh... 115 59.59%

Titandfall because exclusive.... 56 29.02%

Watch Dogs because reasons... 22 11.40%

Total:193

Most hyped game was Destiny, by far.

WD and Titanfall are closer but given the long slow burn of WD hype and it releasing on twice as many platforms, it logically is more hyped than Titanfall.

Most Titanfall "hype" seems to be generated from people just looking for a reason to shit on it. "It was supposed to change gaming forever!" "It should have sold 5 million" and "MS expected it to win them the whole gen!"

Of course, only one of the games ended up being any good.

Well...

I'm playing Watch Dogs right now and really enjoying it. I don't understand the criticism it gets.

I wasn't on forums as much this year and I never really cared for anything I saw with Watch Dogs. Not sure how hyped it was. I was just going to buy it because I thought it would show what the Wii U could do, graphically. I didn't really see all of the hype.

Same goes for Destiny. I expected big things because it was a combination of Bungie and Activision but I never really saw a whole lot of hype. Neither message boards nor ads managed to get me excited for this one.

I'm going to say that Titanfall was the most hyped. I didn't even know what Titanfall was but on this site people were all like "Have you seen Titanfall" and "Game of the Generation". I bought it on day one (along with an Xbox One) based on this. It was a great game but a tad overhyped.

Titanfall had no hype. after e3 2013 the media who played it said it was amazing. that's why people think titanfall was hyped. It was just unexpected that ign etc loved the game at e3.

However destiny had halo levels of hype. It was supposed to be the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. Until the beta when people thought it was meh. Then it reviewed as average to good. all the promise of story etc from the devs nose dived.

watchdogs was hyped since 2012 e3 because of the visuals.

I'd say hype wise it went

destiny, watchdogs then titanfall.

only titanfall actually delivered a great game.

Destiny had the most hype and was probably the biggest disappointment based on the reviews.

So you don't think the whole "60 E3 awards" thing they printed on the box, the bundle they pushed, the marketing campaign when the game came out, and all of the "this is going to change the way people play shooters" stuff was at all hype?

destiny seems to have the highest peak of interest on google trends:

That's a neat statistic. I wonder why we're not having more of these when we're talking about possible sales. Thanks for that.

But I still see people talking about the quality of the games or how much fun they have with it, which has absolutely nothing to do with hype of an unreleased game.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

My pleasure! I don't know how relevant google trends is since it's only about people who use the internet and google (I know some people who were real hyped just by watching the tv ads) but it still gives an idea I guess.
