I do not like this idea.
google apps for your domain is really good and lets you have a huge amount of email addresses using your domain name.

I agree with Munkeh111. You must have an e-mail account to sign up, so why need another?
I am certain it's possible, just not cetain it would be worth the long time support issues it could bring. Moderators would probably have to deal with complaints from other sites if users sign up for e-mail accounts and then start spamming other sites... At least right now, all the complaints they would have to deal with are "internal".
