People like these and 4chan are the Westboro Baptist Church of the gaming community. We have to stand up and say we do not approve of threats even if we disagree with who they are threatening or else our hobby and way pf life will be ostricized by society's stereptyping and angry mobs.

While it'd be great to clean up the trolls in gaming, I think that's quite frankly wishful thinking.  Unless you think the trolls outside of gaming can be dealt with.  Otherwise, fuck society and what they think.  They've ostracized gamer's in the past, quite effectively, and only now give a rats ass about the industry because it's one of the most profitable sectors in the entertainment industry.

Another story with this woman. Let her fade away from peoples mind already. What was her speech gonna really do? Say this this and this. Than the people decide if they agree or not. Games are still made the same way etc. Money controls where things go. Doing these type of threats is just plan dumb.

It's only going to get worse now that the mainstream media is involved in this debate. Their power to generalize and vilify gamers should never be underestimated considering their part in the video game violence debates over the past couple of decades. Now we're not only going to be labeled as violent psychopaths, but now as misogynistic and violent psychopaths.

I dunno who decided it would be a good idea to get the mainstream media in on this, but whoever did clearly isn't very smart.
