Baby steps...

Baby step? This is like a HUGE step. Took Sony 5 or 6 years to even create a webstore, the console is almost 2 years old and it finally gets a webstore.... seems like Nintendo is rushing to play catchup

Yes, but Sony created the webstore when it was starting to become a standard. Nintendo's still about 3 years late.

Sony created a webstore much later in to the lifecycle, this is a fact. It's only been around for the past two years. Nintendo couldnt have done it with the Wii or DS because the shops were separate entities (this poses problems)

Nintendo isn't late at all, they created a store on a unified shop 3 years faster than Sony. It took Sony 5ish years to create one after promising one for 3 years prior.
