Im sorry but what. And then some? I dont dispute that they make some quality games but they pale in comparison to the quality and variety of nintindo (obviously). And Sony brings new ips, variety, quality, and comerical success gen after gen. Mirco's stance has been halo, gears, fable, forza yearly. Sprinkle some titles in here and there. It is effective and does the trick but you have to call it like it is.

No argument on Nintendo.

This year alone Microsoft has launched Project Spark, to good reviews, funded Titanfall to great reviews, and will soon have Sunset Overdrive, reviews pending. Your logic extended to Sony sees us with GT, Killzone and LBP, sprinkle some titles in here and there. It is effective and does the trick, but you have to call it like it

Thus far sony has done. Killzone, Infamous: Second Son, Driveclub, Mlb The Show, Infamous First Light, Knack, Entwined.

Soon LBP. Then Bloodborne and The Order.

Both consoles launches to this point have been mediocre. 3rd parties have been picking up some of the slack. However 2014 itself has been a letdown for games. So i dont know how you can proclaim microsoft is pumping out some high quality exclusives and is better than sony not even a year in.

Microsoft is pumping out some high quality exclusives. I did not say that it is better than Sony. I pointed out the obvious that, thus far this year, Microsoft's exclusive stable has been just as good or better than Sony's. I didn't make any comments about the rest of the generation.

But this is exactly the sort of attitude I am talking about. Microsoft's first party, second party and publishing partnerships have come a long way in the last 5 years. They have the capability to be at least as competent and effective as Sony's, and this year have done so. I did not say they are better, I did not say that Sony's is bad. I said that saying Microsoft has poor first party or developer relationships is an inaccurate and outdated view. And immediately people began listing every Sony exclusive they could think of, including those that have not met critical or commercial expectations (everything in your first list but Infamous and maybe MLB!) because they suddenly felt they had to defend Sony.

My point is this. Microsoft's first party and developer relationships are now very strong, and arguably getting stronger. Still prefer Sony's? Fine. But your preference in no way negates the great strides Microsoft have made, which ultimately benefit all of us as gamers.

I really enjoyed Banjo Nuts and Bolts and Kameo Elements Of Power. Looking forward to the new Rare IP they are working on.

No, just no. Rare should put out a new Conker, Jet Force Gemini, or hell Blast Corps would be AMAZING on today's consoles... think of all the destruction and mayhem in glorious HD!

Battle Toads could be redone only as a 2D XBLA title... 3D would never work for the game.

Rare does what Microsoft says. Hopefully Conker gets enough popularity in Project Spark to give Microsoft an idea that it is sellable.

Microsofts third party exclusives have come a long way...not so sure about the first party. Their strongest first party today existed mostly in their first gen. Forza, Fable, Halo first gen. Some of Microsofts best exclusives  this gen will most likely come from third party acquisitions into first party (Gears & Killer Instinct) and paying third party to make games for them.

.....Just stick to what you believe. Articles cannot help you. Its a well known fact that MS funded Ninja Gaiden 2  to keep the exclusivity of the game and that Tecmo circumvented the contract to make NInja Gaiden 2 for Sony.  You cannot be helped. That is clear at this point.

P.S.

I remember who you are now. You're the same guy who asks people for proof and don't show any of your own for what you say. I'm cutting this convo off before it goes any further.

It doesn't matter if I ever show you proof or not. You always sing the same song.

Admit it, you lost.

Last gen Micro started making some serious headway with Halo, Gears, Forza (fable really went away at the end). They had some other ips aswell however these were their calling cards. As i said they wanted them yearly because without them they didnt have a whole lot.  They also didnt need a whole lot 3rd parties they knew would pick up the slack. I never stated Micros first party is poor. But there is certainly a differnce between Sony's and Mircosoft's. The end of last gen the ps3 was doing really well gainning a lot of momentum and the games were flowing. This gen games are in the pipeline for sony and you proclaim Microsoft's superior at making games after not even a year (Microsoft develops, funds and publishes games of high quality on a consistent basis. As often as Sony does and then some these days).

Your the one that started listing titles (This year alone Microsoft has launched Project Spark, to good reviews, funded Titanfall to great reviews, and will soon have Sunset Overdrive, reviews pending) So i simply listed what sony has released thus far. I could list every game that we know sony has in the works but it wasnt needed. As to the only 2 games i mentioned have met crit or commercial success Killzone Shadow 1.95 million thus far 72 meta i dont see how it fails to be seen as a positive offering. I dont care about defending (i rarely comment on things) however i will speak my mind from time to time if i see something i dont agree with.

Last point. I never put down Micro's first party. I stated they run a proven system of game developement. They will continue to make good games and i think they are a good developer. However i dont think they have surpassed Sony as far as a developer goes because of 1 good gen and a decent couple months start. They are on the right track.  Sony has developed quality titles to comercial success for MANY years (point i was making when i first said it).

I think we're largely on the same page?

I was under the impression you were supporting STAGE's comments, which are largely off base, about Microsoft's development.

The argument about whether Sony or Microsoft does development in house better is one we could have for years, but it seems we agree that they both have positive, beneficial and consistent offerings (others in this thread still seem to think Microsoft doesn't do anything to get good games out except fund Halo) - so I think we're good?
