Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo had an Interesting 3rd Party Exclusive Lineup at the Beginning...

I mean lets see

lego city undercover

zombie u

ninja gaiden 3 razor edges(if it wasnt ported)

rayman legends(if it was also not ported)

bayonetta 2

monster hunter 3 ultimate(only console to get it)

deus ex human revolution director's cut

sonic lost world

etc..

If the wii u was actually sucessful I bet we could have saw more exlusive 3rd party deal(not like heartbreaking(only one was bayo 2 but its not nearly as bad ad others?

What are your thoughts on how the time has change and if the wii u was actually sucessful would there be more 3rd party excluisves?

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Well, delays, bad marketing, and bad Nintendo approach doomed the Wii U IMO. Lack of (constant) releases aren't that big of a deal considering other problems.

Actually, everything about the Wii U seems to have a problem.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Well yeah. If the userbase would've been larger then devs would've released more games for it, like they did with the Wii.

lets see
lego city = who cares there like 20 lego games in year you could pick up one and they have licences based on cool movies something i can gladly take LEGO MARVEL or DC or Hobbit to undercover
zombie u : good game
rayman legends: origins wasnt even one year old
mo3= if i want to play ps2 games i would on my ps2
deus ex=i already played this game before wii u launched 5 months ago

i dont see a thing to get me over.

i would buy wii u at launch if it had
-something different FIFA than 360PS3 ones. upgraded lighting something i mean port was so bad it wasnt even near 360 quality
-BF3 with ALL DLCS at 720p60fps 64 player
-GTA4 with ALL DLCS better graphics than 360ones
-Better Running AC3
-Far Cry 3

I still think Wii U's problem (leaving behind all the things that could have been better and starting with what we got at launch) is the price, had the game pad never existed and Wii U shipped with the pro controller as it's normal one, maintained the same specs BUT starting at $ 199 we would probably be looking at a very different life time sales chart

Yeah, looking back now I think if they moneyhatted and committed to marketing some 3rd party exclusives in the near term it would have helped.

But more definitive edition WiiU ports of 3rd party games on a timely basis also would have been better.
-Meaning NFS:MW shows up in November 2012 as a launch game and critics praise it for the graphics and unique gamepad features.
-Meaning all the sports games = better than last gen. That was the case for NBA2K13, but not EA games ;)
-Meaning Ubisoft releases Far Cry 3 to the Wii U with unique gamepad features.
-Meaning Square Enix is there day one with a Kingdom Hearts game announced for Wii U also with Tomb Raider on the way

To some effect, 3rd party exclusives are really meaningless. Gamers want to know that they won't be missing out on 70-80% of all releases and that they'll get a timely, good quality, fully supported version of any and all games they buy.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Dont forget Fifa 13... people bought it... 660k

I'm not sure if even a larger install base would have helped those games sell better. Wii U owners just don't buy thid party games.
