Forums - Nintendo - Bayonetta 2 Review Thread: 15+ Reviews So Far (8 perfect scores), Meta Score 91

Holy shit, I just read the Polygon review. I couldn't care less about how their score affects the Metascore, or what score they choose to give in general. I respect every critic's right to have an opinion about a game.

But holy shit that review is a train wreck. The guy had no actual criticisms of the game to make, he basically said it's better than the first in every way, and then trashed it for over-sexualizing the main character. Woooooooow. Forget about the score, at least a quarter of that review is just him ranting about how he doesn't like looking at Bayonetta's butt. What a mysterious review.

I love how so many haters are going apeshit over Bayo 2 getting a 10 from GS.. If it was a PS4/X1  multiplat then nobody would be saying a god damn thing.

Humility my good friend.

I really can't stand reviews like that. If you don't even have valid criticisms and just want the attention a low score will bring, then your review has no business even being counted as a legitimate critc. Should be in the same category as if any random fan wrote a review.

Gamespot perfect 10's:

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64, November 21, 1998)
2. SoulCalibur (DreamCast, August 5, 1999)
3. Chrono Cross (PlayStation, November 18, 1999)
4. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (PlayStation 2, October 28, 2001)
5. Grand Theft Auto IV (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, April 29, 2008)
6. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PlayStation 3, June 12, 2008)
7. Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii, May 23, 2010)
8. Bayonetta 2 (Wii U, October 24, 2014)

Not too shabby of company there, although Chrono Cross was definitely no 10/10 game, imo.

Wow, such a large gap between THPS3 and GTAIV.

I don't know how to say it better than someone at gaf said it.

Polygon's review reads like someone going into a strip club to get a drink they love and getting mad when there are tits everywhere. - Oricwindstar from our sister site.

I really expected IGN to be the ones to 10/10 this though, and Gamespot give it the 9 or 9.5.

It's not even such a low score, it's just the lowest. I really think this guy's just a killjoy. Ultimately his score doesn't matter because he's just one of dozens, and his review matters even less because it's not being informative. All it tells you is that there's a lot of fanservice, which you could tell from any single trailer of the game, and you would absolutely already know that if you're familiar with Bayonetta or Platinum in general.

Jose rarely gives above a 9. So I'm surprised on this one. I think this and Smash Bros will both break that glass this year.

Come on Bayo 2 you gotta go down 2 more points, it's for a good cause
