Impressive numbers. I've only played about half of the campaign so far, and I think it is a mixed bag, but I'm not surprised it is so popular. I would be interested in seeing what the figures were like next month though, I think there will be a significant drop off soon.

4 million avg. players per day?
It is growing and I think the new Expansion will give graet boost.

It's not all bad I'm sure: a game as a whole could be bad but it could still have fans that like certain parts about it. All power to them if they enjoyed Destiny.

The expansion may give it a boost, but CoD and Halo releasing early next month will probably give Destiny numbers a hit.
its not that impressive when you think about it at least the comparison that is
destiny 4 platforms halo 1 platform

For now I've stopped playing, I don't find it rewarding enough. I might give it another go when the expansions come out. As it is, it's a very good game with some significant flaws. For me, those flaws are just significant enough to put me off it.

2 games combined.
Like most of part of the userbase is counted twice because most guys that played Halo 3 are playing Reach.
It is not like 4 vs 1 plataform because at that time the userbase was in only two plataforms (PS3 and 360) and now it is splited between 4 (PS3, 360, PS4 and Xbone).
So the fair is count PS3 + PS4 together and 360 + Xbone togeter.
Summary.
Destiny in two plataforms have more players than Halo 3 and Reach combined * you are counting a lot of guys twice here * in one plataform at the same time frame.
It is absolutely amazing.
What a terrible blow these numbers must be to all the cool internet kids that love to hate on Destiny :(
Thanks jlmurph!
