Doesn't nintendo only give shipped numbers? Also digital.

I'm glad this is the second post, because publishers give shipped data unless citing a sales tracker.

I usually agree but this time its sold through (indluding digital) not shipped. If it was shipped it be over 4mil. France alone shipped 300k

I can partially agree with Outlaw's inevitable "Shipped!" comment. Nintendo is definitely reporting shipped, but that seems like a substantial amount of shipped games on shelves if VGC got the number right.

Its not shipped though, unless your stating Nintendo are lyers???????????

It probably is considering how much it sold in Japan while being out of stock for the most part!

1.5 million in Japan.

Wayyyy over 1.5mil in japan with digital. (note: usually i wont say digital as the norm its usual dont matter but we already kno digital is over 56k alone)

Yep... because digital sales don't exist...

Still underestimate.

For those wondering, Moffit said "in the hands" of players, so it's likely sold through, even though he didn't actually say it. A "shipped" number wouldn't imply the games being in the hands of players. And that report was made on the 7th, VGC goes up to the 4th, so it's missing 3 days from Nintendo's reports. It probably sold 600 - 700K in the US up to the 7th, including digital. Though one shouldn't count too much on digital sales, they likely won't play a significant factor, as they usually don't.

Also note that the game also launched in Australia, and the rest of North and South America, even if they don't play a huge role in total sales, they shouldn't be ignored. Don't be surprised if they make up a larger portion of the 1.3 million than you think.

You know 100% certain that it's sold-to?

I'm not saying that VGC is correct, but there's going to be a ton of copies on shelves. This is the first meaningful handheld title in the West since X and Y.

How does that affect how many games are on shelves?

Yes, Nintendo usually puts out ship numbers like tat 2.82mil MK8 #s in its forst month, but nintendo purposely said it as Sold through like how Sony sold through (10mil) ps4 #s.

Also we have japan sales currently at around 1.5mil and we all kno digital sales are high due to stock problems japan has had since ssb released.

Gamers will be hungry for something to play on the system. It's the first retail game that I've purchased since X.
