Carl I only just seen your reply. I'll send you a message.

Question for smeags or truck. Would it be a good idea making a useful links thread and stickying it?

Put anything from links to important / super threads and links to sites we can use to embed videos on the forum. Just general stuff like that I'm sure you and others will think of more.

Include me please.

To be honest; if anyone was to get involved it should be the head mods to resolve the issue as opposed to for personal game. Alternately as it's an issue which affects us all, we should all be included to get to the bottom of the issue.

Honest question, I thought the definition of spam was a multitude of worthless post in multiple threads. Just want to know its been a while I guess things are different these days.... I even checked the Rules and its seems pretty clear it is a repeated thing not just for one off topic post (like Wow 1000 posts).

I remember Leo-j and Soriku getting banned a few times because they were in a competition to see who get the highest post count, but I never recall anyone getting banned over one post (unless they were a repeat offender)

Spam can be anything. Be iit a multitude of short replies in a row in one thread, one word/letter responses, something totally off topic or a combination. Normally it does indeed take a pattern of this behaviour to moderate, unless it's a particularly baffling incident.

I also think I know what you are referring to. Don't worry. That was a joke. Noone was moderated in that thread else there would have been a mod note left.

Seriously though is it recommended we mention the 1000 posts but include it along with a useful post?

Ofcourse it is. Every post should have some point to it after all!

What happened in late 2007/early 2008 has no bearing today. War has changed.

ok, I did not know it was a joke. Now you know why I asked because to someone who does not know you and Bananaking are friends would see that as just a tad harsh.

Yeah that makes sense. I try to avoid making joke comments or posts wherever possible; that one seemed like too good an opportunity to miss though.

Anyway sorry for causing any unneeded panic. I might be evil but not THAT evil

I am fine with that. Most of the mods are new (new mods at least some are old old users like Mummelmen who did not used to be a mod but is now). I remember Stof, Nazintips, Montanahatchet, being the most active mods back then. Out of curiousty who else has been a mod all this time (it has to be tiresome for 8 years) I want to say Starcraft was a mod then.

No panic. I try to have at least some substance in my post, but occasionally I make a worthless one (like wow this thread is 1000 post actually) or I am drunk and it becomes mildly incoherant.
