Oh, the good old Amazon "increase" percentages. It doesn't mean sales increased by 3750%, it's just the ranking number which was lowered by that amount.

The original statement doesn't even make any sense - if something was out of stock (therefore selling zero units), increasing 3750% would mean it would still be selling zero units afterwards.

That's not how it works. Amazon calculates it like this:

Imagine an item was at ranking #3000, and then improves to #150. They'll show a percentage increase of 1900%, since:

(3000-150)/150 = 1900%

You can see some examples here, and confirm by yourself that it works the way I said:

@OT; it don't take a whole lot to improve upon 1-2 or maybe 3-4 units, so however staggering percentages may look, the real numbers may be underwhelming once they surface.
