you got to be joking. Look at the people giving it a zero in the reviews. 8 of the 30 "user" reviews have given it a zero. The game isn't even released yet so it's obvious these haven't played it and even if they did it's obviously nowhere near a zero game.

Hell, one of the zer scores are from a guy called Eresuntrollaco. Go figure. I reckon it will be an 8/10 racer and if you've PS plus it's good value whether you only take that edition or the upgrade.

But I doubt you even have a PS4 and just posted so you could mention FH2.

so you have played it then?  dont you see a little bit of irony in your post?

the last sentence isnt required.

i played it enough at EGX to know it's not a 0/10 and even if I didn't I think it's obvious. Why are you even defending xbox fanboys on metacritic giving it a 0/10? No need to answer that it's a rhetorical question.

I'm not defending them, they are idiots.

But I cant condone your 8 either.  You havent played it enough to gove a score.

We see it over and over again from all sides here.  If a game gets good reviews (user or professional) then they are paraded loud and proud... bad reviews are biased garbage.  Its all very silly.

Here i have the game

Am i allowed to give a first look review?
I played it for around 20 hours now - Probably longer than most reviewers did.
I hope we all remember those awesome reviewers saying GT5 didn't have a damage model and stuff just cause it got unlocked a few hours into the game to give people the time to learn how to drive ;)

The game is currently a solid 7,5-8

+ Graphics
Without any competition the game is currently the most beautiful game on consoles and by far the most beautiful racing game.
Project Cars on PC is the only thing coming close but it doesn't even have a chance against DriveClub if you compare the environment and stuff.
The graphics will get even better once the cloud drops the patch with the weather stuff :D
This game will surely stay the most beautiful racing game on consoles for a long long time.

+ Sound
Untouched in the racing genre.
I unlocked a couple of the later cars and they sound amazing.
People saying the engine sounds are weak clearly didn't play the game long enough.
OMG a VW Beetle doesn't sound like a Ferrari...garbage game tztzt ~.~

+ Feel of Speed
Especially if you play with the cockpit View this just feels insane once you unlock the faster cars.

+ Driving is fun
It is really something like a Simcade - Looks easy to learn but is hard to master. There is a lot of depth into it.
This will surely get interesting online. So far now i would say its 60% Arcade and 40% "Realism"

+ AI
Damn aggressive later on.They know they aren't real and try to kill you and themself hahaha

Now the minus points

- (Singleplayer) Content
Absolute shit.
Not many events. Most consist of "challenges" inside of those events.Reach a certain speed, finish top3 and so on.Doing one of those challenges earns you a medal after the race and earning more medals unlocks the next one.
The big racing events consist of 2-3 races in a row with each having its own challenges with a bigger goal standing over them.If you fail Race 2 you have to redo the whole competition.Kinda annoying cause later on the AI gets aggressive and can f*** you over.

I just did one MP match in the time i had the game and the people drive like you would them expect to do.
Bumping into each other and stuff.Nothing new.
You need to have luck or create premade groups with people that are willing to actually drive.
Today the Servers were down the whole time - To many players trying to get in as it seems.Evo didn't expect that probably.

The game is currently a 7,5-8 for me and will get upgraded a 0,5-1 depending on how well the weather stuff is actually done and how much the season pass will add over time.
But DriveClub is surely the Racing Game to have in this year.

So its a average racing game, not sure how that will make it sony's biggest commercial fail.

Looking the scores it is good but not great... there is 6 average scores out of 27 in meta.

The main good scores are coming from playstation centric sites. This game is getting average scores from notable review sites.

That's a lie.

I already showed the list of notable reviewers sites excluding all the PS centrics most have good scores.

Just to hold 74 with two 50/100 scores needs a lot of 80+ scores.

GameTrailers 86
Eurogamer Portugal 80
Eurogamer Italy 80
TheSixthAxis 80
VideoGamer 80
GamesRadar 80
IGN 79
Game Informer 78
Destructoid 75
Polygon 75

All good scores.

The only big to give average scores were: Joystiq, Eurogamer and GameSpot.

PS. I didn't listed any PS centric site... crazy, no?

It's doing good as so far as I haven't seen any tonto 100% er's which pop up on meta from time to time.

I haven't seen sales figures yet so how can anyone agree it's a commercial failure?

Well a game with not many appealing reviews and not to much preorders, since many cancelled their pre order after the delay was anounced, are not going to bode to well for the game's legs. In it's final week only 2k preorders where added so that doesn't bode to well either.

And I said biggest commercial fail on PS4 not all playstations, which isn't that hard to acomplish since Driveclub has to sell over 1.5 million units. Which without legs would be nearly impossible, look how long infamous strugles to get to two million, which is a popular franchise. Seeing a new critical mediocre franchise do better is not likely, a bit like knack but without the Launch hype.

I think you forget the PS+ version. I don't know how this will turn out, but if the game is good for the players, they will buy the complete version. And I think a lot of PS+ players will download the PS+ version of DC, so it could do well if there is a good ratio Upgrade/PS+ version.

Because of the mediocre reviews I wonder if people even bother to try the PS+ version, if they do this game has still the potential to be a great seller, problem is only half of the PS4 owners has PS+ according to Sony and how many are still interested in a demo of an CRITICALLY dissapointing game which is burned all over the internet in previous posts I already explained why this game deserves higher rates. The people who visit many gamesites will surely download the demo, but the masses probably don't bother to download the ps+ version simply because it's a big download and since the reviews are mediocre why would they. Look at how much destiny sold the week after it's release from 5.4 million to barely 600k all platforms, which leads to the conclusion if reviews are bad people don't bother anymore.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I love how driveclub is the first racing game which has been negatively reviewed by some sites for not being open world! I wonder what the agenda there is :D

It seems that most of the racing basics are covered but the lack of content really bothers me. Eurogamer is saying that you can finish the career in one day. I don't know how it is difficult to create content for a racing game. There are lots of tracks, when you have that much tracks creating content should be easy, no? Gran Turismo has enough content to last you 6 months.

I'll probably download the plus edition and download a few extra tracks. I don't need the full game it seems.

Something I agree with you on.

A game witn 70 to 80 is decent, nothign wrong with getting that score.

A game with 60 to 70 is ok too for some people.

Its just that last gen 10's were given out like confetti so you cant blame the gamer.

But you can blame gamers when they say a game from console "x" at 70 to 80 is disappointing and a bit shit... but then when a game from console "y" gets the same or similar score it is all of a sudden the reviewers fault or that score is now magically ok...

I don't know what changed but reviewers started this gen a bit harsh compared with last gen.

I think a 7-8 game is good and people can have fun and totally enjoy it... of course it is not great or amazing but it is a good game.

You are right maybe the 10 festival last generation makes the gamers expect more.

I never expected too much and I'm not too interested in the game anyway but if it could climb another point then that'd be neat.

Also this situation kinda makes me annoyed that the game will only be reviewed this once, I mean I get that reviewers can only talk about what they have, but if I remember right then the game should have 50 more cars, over 10 more tracks, dynamic weather and a photo mode (Really Evo? You couldn't get this in at launch? Sucker Punch managed to make one in a couple of weeks with no prior plans for a photo mode in Infamous: SS and you announced this feature months ago) in less than a year, that should definitely mean at least a couple points on metacritic.

But well, that's the problem with adding content like this post launch, it was the same with Klller Instinct.

The masses, like you call them, don't read reviews.

They will see "Oh cool, the new free games for PS+, with a big racing game !", and download it. It's that easy, because even if it's a big download, it's free. And if you have space on you hard drive, you always download the free PS+ games, except if you already have a lot of games to play.

Like you said, Destiny had bad reviews but sold 5.4 millions, it's good. Driveclub has more or less the same score and is free to try... Why don't try it ?
