Forums - Nintendo - Captain Toad to be delayed to March to cover another barren Q1-Q2?

Tagged games:

if true this is just further proof that Nintendo needs to unify their platforms in order to release games in a timely manner, they simply cannot provide strong support for two seperate pieces of tech.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

This is why we need third party games. Because they are the lifeblood of the console.
I am curious how they approach their next home console. One thing is sure they need third party support in this age. It will be interesting how they tackle it.

It's not impossible. But I don't think it will happen. They need the games sooner rather than later.

I don't think Captain was ever really gone make a difference to be honest. They've got smash and they'll start reselling Mario Kart through advertising as the holiday approaches and we get the DLC

I really don't think that would help either. If the games can be designed to work on both handhelds and console, then there's little reason to own both platforms. People seem more than happy to just get their Nintendo fix on the 3DS as it is.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

Or they need more teams!

Or they need good third party support with builds that hold up to the competition.

Not saying it can't work but the problem with the unifiying idea is that it removes each device of its uniqueness. Part of the Vita's failure comes from the fact that it was never really able to set itself aside with exclusives. If Nintendo took a unified root one of its systems will be killed by the other. People aren't gonna spend twice on hardware to just to play the same game on the go or big screen.

Neh, wasn't really looking forward to it anyway... As long as they dont delay SSB, I m good

Walmart also has the same date as gamefly.
Most likely they delayed the game to not get overshadowed by Smash and amiibo.

I think just about anything would overshadow Captain Toad.

They need games sooner and later.

Barren Q1-Q2? I thought that Splatoon and Yoshi's Wooly World were both set for Q1-Q2? Does this rumor suggest that they're getting delayed as well?

Compared to the competition that isn't many games.

Having Captain Toad compete with Smash this holiday may not be in their best interest

I dont´t see how purely relying on smash for november, december and january is in the best intrest for nintendo, one game can only do so much

Well they survived holiday 2013 with only 3D World and some smaller titles.
