Forums - Gaming Discussion - Mafia Round 70 - Smash Brothers - Wahahaha! Wario Wins! (And Mafia Too I Guess...)

Good lord, this thread fucking died. Am I really seeing this? A whole day with no posts! Alright, since some people want me to reiterate in more detail, I will.

I'm a voyeur. I see what actions are done to a person, not who does them. I have an x-shot called two-dimensional that makes me turn sideways and become intangible and therefore untargetable. It functions like a commuter effect that I can turn on for a limited number of nights. Three, to be exact. The flavor is that the neutral-a move is me fapping. Mr. Game & Watch is actually a big pervert that likes to watch people sleep and fap to them, and when he feels like being extra creepy, he can do it unseen.

Day one, I thought Khan was scum. I tunneled him too hard. I thought I'd catch him lying with my power, or die trying if I'd pissed off scum too much, which would hopefully lead to his lynch. Alternatively, if I was wrong, it would get us a confirmed cop to follow, which it did. So Night 1 I asked Khan to scan me and targeted myself. The PM said I was a big narcissist and decided to fap while looking into a mirror. In the mirror I saw a figure looking in through the window, and this only made me hornier to have an observer. He seemed to be interested in what I was holding, and decided it was nothing of interest and left, to which I took great offense. After the flavor, the result said I was investigated. In addition, the flavor seemed to imply that indeed, as Khan said, the scout looks for dangerous items to bring back as evidence of alignment. I didn't think it meant he was an item cop because that'd be stupid, and because I really wanted for us to have a cop to follow. As time went on, it began to make more and more sense that Khan was indeed a normal cop and the scout bringing back "dangerous items" was just flavor.

Day two, I was busy with school for most of it, but Smeags was being pretty scummy, so I voted him hoping we'd get something out of it, and if not, well there was no way he was town. I'd considered the possibility of him being a jester, and it was starting to look that way by the end of the Day, but by the time I got back he'd been lynched. That Night I wanted to see if anyone would do anything to Khan. He was invincible to kills, but not to manipulation. Spurge had been asked to target Khan, so I was especially hoping to catch spurge lying. So I targeted Khan. I saw nothing. The PM just said I watched him sleep while I jerked off unseen, no result. The unseen part I figured must have been in reference to my having used the 2-D ability that night.

Day three, spurge said he targeted Khan and was roleblocked, but I doubted that, as stefl should have prevented manipulation. Then spurge said he wasn't roleblocked and saw that Khan went nowhere, which I knew wasn't true because I got no results when watching Khan. So I was extremely confident that spurge was scum, because I knew he was lying about going to Khan. It seemed like he was trying to save Yoshiya by saying Khan didn't investigate Yoshiya. I trusted Khan, and I didn't trust spurge, and a redirector seemed like a valuable scum role, so I decided I'd go for Yoshiya. I waited to vote because I wanted us to get as much of the day as possible. Near the end, the votes piled on very fast and I didn't want to accidentally hammer and take the immunity, especially since I didn't really need it. That Night, I thought spurge would be targeted, at the very least by Khan, but also possibly someone else. Sure enough, the PM talked about a figure snooping around spurge's place, looking for something. Then afterwards, a figure appeared and held out a hand, and spurge was lifted up and engulfed in a beautiful glowing purple light. After the flavor, the results said he was investigated and protected. Come to think of it, I kind of want to know what Imp's character is now, because that doesn't sound like Dr. Mario at all. Palutena maybe? What with the glowing light, I mean, since she's a goddess of light.

Anyway, Day four, spurge said he'd tracked Imp to himself, and Imp confirmed, so I put two and two together. I was surprised that spurge was showing evidence of indeed being a tracker, but the fact of the matter is that I KNEW he was lying about Khan, and Khan had just claimed he was scanned as having a dangerous item, and Yoshiya had been scum after being found with a dangerous item, so what else was I supposed to think? He really seemed at best like a scum tracker. That Night, I just followed the plan, and watched Khan sleep again and fapped unseen, though this time he fapped as well before going to sleep, much to Game & Watch's pleasure. No result. Again, seemed like the flavor contained a reference to it when I used my 2-D power.

Which brings me to Day five. I was worried by the no result. Did it mean my power had gotten in the way some how? I figured I'd at least have seen stefl, even if I didn't get directed to him to see Radish. Either way, it pissed me off that two people hadn't followed the plan, so I waited to see what people said. Ended up spending most of the Day defending myself. One of the two plan breakers are scum, I think. I've already said my piece about Imp, but I guess there's the possibility that it's stefl. Maybe stefl killed wonk? It would mean spurge wasn't a liar, since then Yoshiya's redirect of spurge to Astro went through and spurge saw Astro go nowhere. On the other hand, his freely admitting that he went from the plan and having a believable story for what he did instead certainly helps his case. The fact that Khan is alive is another huge thing he has going for him. Not sure where I'm placing my vote yet.

Alright, we need some form of plan.

Retagging like a sir

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Indeed we need something.

Lord help me, but imma put a placeholder vote just to keep things around.

vote:impertinence

His role seems tailor-made for his story which sows suspicion of a serial killer, while we really don't have proof of one (or if there is, then he's the only nontown survivor now).

Then he can defend himself.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

We seriously need to do something...

Well, our three options today are HylianSwordsman, Impertinence, and Astrogamer. They're really the only ones about whom there can be any lingering doubts.

I'm inclined to go for Impertinence, despite the fact that mislynching him last time was what lost us the game, he's been the one fomenting doubt about there being a serial killer running around out there, and i really doubt there is one given that we've had only one instance where there were double-actions at night, and since protection actions on our side were pretty clearly telegraphed, if there were two factions, we should have figured it out by now.

I think there aren't, so his role is junk, and he's actually scum.

Which isn't a great argument, but being as lifeless as town is now, it's something.

If someone can cook up a more convincing case for Astrogamer or HylianSwordsman, be my guest.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Well, to get the ball rolling, I might as well cast a placeholder

Vote: Impertience

We need to make some bold moves! It's clear that we have no information, and the combination of roles that exist have confused things too much to almost make it worth discussing.

Vote: Impertinence

~~~~ Mario Kart 8 drove far past my expectations! Never again will I doubt the wheels of a Monster Franchise! :0 ~~~~
So that's like L-1 right. Imp better defend himself soon. Though who should hammer it when all said and done? I would prefer it to someone who actually has a useful power
Well well, you guys feel comfortable running the vote to L-1 on the claimed doctor do you? Without any sort of reasonable case presented that I've seen, except maybe questioning the notion that Spurge has to have been a miller?
Anyway, this reminds me of something Hylian told me in the dead thread after the last game when I had just been lynched and town was staring down the barrel of a nuke: At the end of the day it's not the best case, but the strongest case that wins. Meaning, people are eager to jump on a case that is brought forward forcefully rathert than looking for the best laid out argument.
Why bring this up? This is exactly what Hylian has been doing this weekend, presenting the strongest possible argument for a non existing case. In absence of anything else, lo and behold, the lynch of me is basically almost a done deal. Before you guys decide to pull the trigger though, please consider a couple of things:
What is the reason for Khan's constant downplaying of his role and Hylians emphatic support of that role? Could it be that it's Khans scan on Hylian from Night One that is keeping him safe. His sudden burst of energy to try to convince Khan (all of us in reality) of Khans cop ability and subsequent attack on me is a classic chainsaw defense.
Anyway, I have never said it's impossible that Spurge was a miller, but I do think it's extremely unlikely. An uninformed miller is a pretty radical role to put in a game. So far, no one has felt the need to answer my questions on how prof would approach a miller in his game. From everything I have read about millers, an uninformed miller is very, very rare and is considered unbalanced almost to the point of being unfair. It's pretty crazy that everyone buys into the idea of a not self-aware miller being part of the game. I find that extremely unlikely. Basically, for Spurge to have been a miller, he must have played that part like a complete moron. As soon as he was scanned, there would have been no reason for him what so ever to not claim miller as long as he didn't do it immediately. The fact that Khan (and Hylian) are trying to play it of as suspicious to consider these weaknesses with the 'Spurge was a miller' theory speaks for itself.
In reality, it is extremely unlikely that Spurge was a miller, at least so far from being a reasonable explanation that we HAVE to consider the implications of him just being a town tracker.
