Anyways a comparison between the PS3 and Xbox 360 was made and the result (i'm not asking which version is better) was:

Xbox 360: Brighter colours

PS3: Less Aliasing issues

Q: What kind of a problem would aliasing issues cause? From 1-10 and off course 1 being not a major problem and 10 beingg the worst.

Aliasing causes extra content bundles to be bought for $50 million. Believe me, the PS3 version needs more aliasing issues.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Aliasing refers to an effect that causes different continuous signals to become indistinguishable (or aliases of one another) when sampled in statistics, signal processing, computer graphics and related disciplines. Aliasing also refers to the distortion or artifact that results when a signal is sampled and reconstructed as an alias of the original signal.

When we view a digital photograph, the reconstruction (interpolation) is performed by a display or printer device, and by our eyes and our brain. If the reconstructed image differs from the original image, we are seeing an alias. An example of spatial aliasing is the Moiré pattern one can observe in a poorly pixelized image of a brick wall. Techniques that avoid such poor pixelizations are called anti-aliasing.

That's what I just got from Wikipedia....if you go there they have a picture example of what aliasing can do that illustrates it quite nicely.

and lol Starcraft.

...

Your question is a little confusing in it's wording, but having less aliasing on the PS3 version is a good thing. Aliasing is bad. It is where edges of objects in the GTA universe (buildings, people) look a little jaggedy, and not so crisp. This is normally abundant in the 3D modeling of trees at far distances.
almost all games have some aliasing, as it is incredibly common.

So I suppose you can use your imagination for how the aliasing will effect the look of the GTA world.

as far as the "brighter colors" is concerned. tht seems to be th case for a lot of different games. It isn't even a bad thing really. The PS3 shades games darker, and attempts to make colors richer (I believe), but in many cases devs might not be able to utilize it properly only showing lights and darks at a greater contrast instead of colors as well. I downloaded the first preview for both versions of GTAIV,via the PSN and XBL respectively, and noticed that it seemed a bit darker in the PS3 preview- and that was months ago.

both games are gonna be great, and for me it is +1 for the less aliasing on the PS3 version.

...and + 5 for the extra 360 DLC. (even though we don't know precisely what it will be)

̶3̶R̶D̶   2ND! Place has never been so sweet.

so you're saying the ps3 has less aliasing issue which is a good thing, right? but does that mean the xbox 360 wouldn't look as crisps?

what people fail to understand in the Xbox360/PS3 comparaison is that :

except for a fews games (like AC/skate maybe), where the PS3 was really inferior, in the others multiplateform game, both version are about similar

So here, the 2 version seems egual to me.
Hopefully for the PS3.

Time to Work !

It means the 360 version has more jaggies.

The "Brighter Colours" will be due to them not turning on the full colour spectrum in the options on the PS3.

In the review at AGN 'less aliasing issues' actually refers to 360 version having more jagged edges. Too much aliasing would also be a bad thing, of course, but in this case 'less aliasing issues' just means that the ps3 version is a tad bit smoother.

IMO neither of the points - the coulours or aliasing - are not very critical. No markable differences in framerates etc was reported in any of those reviews between the two versions.

Brighter colors itself are enough to make aliasing visible.
Meaning that in technical sense games can be identical, but the brighter colours makes objects more aliased. Although, more anti-aliasing used, makes the picture more darker/more "cepian".

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

There should be compared on video soon enough, i'd just wait for that (Not Gametrailers. Lol)
