Power didn't push the NES, PS1, PS2, OR Wii ahead.

Because power back then made little difference. Even if you doubled the power of rivals, you wouldn't see much of a difference. Now though, you do and people have noticed it. Plus power now allows for a more varied game library which devs are opting for. Combine this with price and market image, and it is misguided to assume that the PS4 won't utterly dominate this generation.

The Wii wasn't that long ago. Another thing, how does the PS4's power allow for a more vaired game library? Aside from the resolution issue (which is overblown), there isn't a lot that PS4 can do that the Xb1 can't.

The PS4 has roughly 50% more power - that is a lot. This allows for more effects and mechanics eg destructible environments, use of particle physics, more objects on screen etc. People who think power only improves resolution need to either study or use a game engine to see how games actually work

Im going to stick my nose in here and throw my 2 cents in. I just sold my ps4. I know what the specs say on paper, but I have yet to see this 50% power gap. If I had seen it, I wouldn't have sold it. It might be there 5 years down the road, and if it is, I might rebuy the ps4. Until then, its all talk.

yeah.. i bought the PS5, 5 times more powerful, but i sold it cus it had no games...

oh wait even better, i bought a 1000$ gaming PC but i sold it cus games don't go beyond Ultra Setting..

oh wait wait...I bought the X1 but i sold it because I want to play Halo 6, it might come out in the next 5 years, i might rebuy it, until then, its all talks.....

see? no sense right? -.-

Xbox One is still tracking ahead of the Xbox 360 despite being $100 dollars more than the Xbox 360 at launch.

http://www.vgchartz.com/article/251881/xbox-one-vs-xbox-360vgchartz-gap-chartsaugust-2014-update/

Xbox One is still moving tons of multi-platform games despite the Playstation 4 version being higher resolution, which shows

that many Gamers just don't care. The Naysayers said people would care and that the resolution difference

would make an impact on Xbox One sales.

The Xbox One version Call of Duty: Ghosts even outsold the Playstation 4 version in America despite the Playstation 4 being ahead

in Console sales.

http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Call+of+Duty%3A+Ghosts&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

True Next-gen first party Xbox One Games like Forza Horizon 2 are running in 1080p like Microsoft said.

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/more-xbox-one-games-will-run-in-1080p-over-time-microsoft-says/1100-6418408/

still tracking above? lol the link you give us shows a sharp decline and soon 360 will be tracking above

its not moving the amount of SW the ps4 is and the ps4sHW is over 2X it WW, so yes XB1 having inferior multiplats is affecting its HW and SW sales

XB1 version of ghost is outsold by ps4s WW and in america i would consider those numbers a tie lets see if you can say that about advance warfare sales this Nov.

FH2 is also running at 30FPS and is a multigen release XB1 has shown that 1080p and 60FPS isnt doable look at ghost,COD AW, and titanfal, MS had all this time and multiple SDKs yet that havent been able to get AW to 60FPS most of these games coming out now and next year really arent demanding since there also releasing on last gen HW whats going to happen once 2016 and beyond come and devs really push the HW

COD Ghosts is 720p on Xbone and 1080p on PS4, so there's 50% difference right there at launch lol. Tomb Raider on PS4 is 60fps while its 30fps on Xbone so there is a 100% difference too !

Basically this. I can't believe that todd2r completely missed the resolution and framerate differences in multiplats within the past year.

Some math:

720p = 921,600 pixels
900p = 1,440,000 pixels
1080p = 2,073,600 pixels

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag
X1 version: 900p @ 30 fps
PS4 version: 1080p @ 30 fps
Difference: 144%

Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
X1 version: 1080p @ 30 fps
PS4 version: 1080p @ 60 fps (unlocked)
Difference: ~200%

Call of Duty: Ghosts
X1 version: 720p @ 60 fps
PS4 version: 1080p @ 60 fps
Difference: 225%

Battlefield 4*
X1 version: 720p @ 30 fps
PS4 version: 900p @ 30 fps
Difference: > 156%
* PS4 version had ambient occlusion while the X1 version did not have AO.

There are a lot of other examples like MGSV: Ground Zeroes, Lord of the Fallen, Plants vs Zombies, and Metro: Redux.

Shadow of Mordor will probably join that list as well, we are about to get confirmation.

Hmm good question..

Just know... not all of us share the sentiments as Jega :)

Dodging the question here Slade

I understand that (that would be....worrying), but really, when you read a Jega thread, what do you think about it?

"very well" subject to interpretation. Its a matter of perspective.
