Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why isn't samus in a mario kart game?

I don't count the arcade games due to those being developed primarily by Namco with permission from Nintendo as part of a deal made to help get more exclusives on the Gamecube. The inclusion of the non-Nintendo characters was done by Namco, not Nintendo.

As far as Diddy Kong goes... Donkey Kong Island has been established as PART of the main Mario universe by way of Donkey Kong Land(Big Ape City is the city where the construction site of Donkey Kong, the first game to star Mario, took place)

R.O.B. does present a problem.. Best thing I can think of is that during Mario Bros, Mario and Luigi were living in Brooklyn, N.Y.. Nintendo had a warehouse in New York during the 80's and New York was also where Nintendo first test marketed the NES and R.O.B.

It's also possible that R.O.B. is one of E. Gadd's inventions that just happens to LOOK like the old NES R.O.B. I really don't know...

Mario's story is wacked. Somebody took alot of drugs j/k.

Wow this topic sucks.

And I will just say as a HUUUUUUGE Samus fan I would HATE to see her in a mario kart game to me that would diminish how badass she is sitting in this cartoon kart surrounded by cartoon characters and while I love Mario and co I would not want to see him in a metroid game as a playable character.

Cameo's are brief and usually a small reference.
Same goes for Link..if they add Samus then they would have to add link.

Mario Kart is for playable characters that were in the the mario universe of characters to play.

ROB is the only exception because he is sorta middle ground he is a character but also has no game franchise history and is part of Nintendo's hardware history.

When is this thread going to end.
@ Ryudo We already went through this a billion times. Nobody bring this thread back. It is the worse one I ever started.

Keep this thread (and hope) alive! Maybe Sakurai will read it and make us a Smash Bros. Kart!

Why? Nobody is going to read this and make a Smash Bros Kart. Even though a Smash Bros Kart would be awesome.

No! You must not admit failure!! You're only losing because people are cherry picking. Counter attack with double cherry picking attack!!

^ It's too late 2.00A.M. I just noticed your sig. You should put my name and the link to this thread in it.

Edit: I also proved the point. I knew ever since the first post that samus in the mario kart series was a bad idea. The point of the thread after that was to prove that just becuase something exists a certain way doesn't mean it won't change and have exceptions.

Ok! If you really want attention I can bump this when I get bored.

"Why isn't samus in a mario kart game?"

Reasons why Samus should not be in Mario Kart

1)  Samus with the Speed Booster runs roughly 5 times faster than even 150cc karts.

2)  Samus has a gun and doesn't need items at all.

3)  Samus is slightly genocidal...

4)  Since Samus has a gun and is slightly genocidal, every time she shot a character, that character would die.  I don't just mean "F-Zero/will not finish the race" die but rather "a grey tombstone now appears in character selection where that character used to be" die.  By the end of a single Grand Prix, every character except Samus would be dead inlcuding the floating Lakitu who made the mistake of trying to tell Samus which direction she should be going.

5)  If all the other characters are dead, little Timmy will cry.  That will annoy Samus and then little Timmy will meet an unfortunate end.

As you can see from these points above, putting Samus in Mario Kart would not only be a bad idea but a very dangerous one.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S.
