The inclusion of the non-Nintendo characters was done by Namco, not Nintendo. As far as Diddy Kong goes... Donkey Kong Island has been established as PART of the main Mario universe by way of Donkey Kong Land(Big Ape City is the city where the construction site of Donkey Kong, the first game to star Mario, took place) R.O.B. does present a problem.. Best thing I can think of is that during Mario Bros, Mario and Luigi were living in Brooklyn, N.Y.. Nintendo had a warehouse in New York during the 80's and New York was also where Nintendo first test marketed the NES and R.O.B. It's also possible that R.O.B. is one of E. Gadd's inventions that just happens to LOOK like the old NES R.O.B. I really don't know... |
Mario's story is wacked. Somebody took alot of drugs j/k.
