While TF was amazing and MK8 is super fun, i can't deny being a sucker for Smash.

Smash U will be GOTY for me easily, but i had quite a year with my Wii U (DK:TF, Child of Light, MK8, WWHD and Shovel Knight so far, with Bayo 2 and Smash being day one in the future. Hyrule Warriors And cap. Toad almost sure too). I also got Xenoblade Chronicles, retrocompatibility paying it self just with that.

Probably Tropical Freeze. I like MK8, but nothing about it really wowed me, and I have a number of gripes (no gamepad/TV or horizontal split screen local multiplayer?) that keep me from really wanting to put it at #1. Smash Bros will be good, but I don't think I can accurately rate the quality of a fighting game in a month alone. Bayo 2 will probably be good but will have quick time events so it will still be tainted by original sin, and while I like Shovel Knight, it's a notch below Tropical Freeze imo.

Bayonetta 2.

One word. Cleavage!

Also, the game looks so beautiful and it looks Epic as well. The first stage bosses look amazing. The music is so mystical and goes with the game so well.

Tropical Freeze. That barrel level with the mice and the cheese makes me smile just thinking about it.

And I agree with MTZehvor. Mario Kart was enjoyable but it didn't wow me much. Also the lack of options to completely control replays annoyed me more than it should.

Bayonetta 2 without a doubt. The original game was one of my favorite games of last gen, and the streams I've watched only served to hype me up for it even more. I don't think even Smash Bros. is going to beat out Bayonetta 2 for my GOTY.

I can't wait until October 24th, that day shall be glorious.
