Forums - Microsoft - Xbox One launches in China September 29th

http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/23/xbox-one-china-launch/

Having just discovered that Halo's Master Chief is actually Chinese, we were about to call out the irony of the Xbox One's delayed launch in mainland China, but now we have some good news. According to our brethren over at Engadget Chinese, Microsoft has just confirmed that its latest console and Kinect sensor will be on sale in China on September 29th, which means local gamers will be able to enjoy them over the week-long national holiday commencing on October 1st. Alas, only 10 games -- including Forza Motorsport 5Dance Central: Spotlight and Neverwinter -- have been approved by the authorities in the first batch, but the company claims that over 70 titles are already "in development." There's still no word on what caused the original delay; our guess is Microsoft initially felt there aren't enough approved launch titles, but there's always the grey market, of course. Sony, your move now.

good news
sometimes in november / december would have been really bad

they need to launch now and get a holiday push.

Hmm, still no details on the delay but might actually be some government stuff which we might never understand...

Curious to see how chinese will react to the console(s). Inb4 "won't make a difference", "only piracy of interest", "desperate move", "xbone not attractive", "you can already buy the console"...

I think Microsoft will do well but to be honest I think Sony will do better with the PlayStation TV and playstation 4, they just seem to have more games that cater to the Chinese audience.
Good luck to Microsoft though.

I own PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 2 slim, PlayStation 3 60gb, PlayStation 3 slim 1tb, PSP, PS Vita 32gb and PlayStation 4.

Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy/colour, Advance/Sp, Wii.

Well with over 100k preorders, hopefully the Xbox One can sell 200k week 1.

You're so pessimistic for someone always talking about how negative " other" people on here are. The irony! Anyways, is this confirmed now? Where is the delay then if it was less than a week...

Approved launch titles (10):

Forza Motorsport 5
Kinect Sports Rivals
Powerstar Golf
Zoo Tycoon
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood
Dance Central Spotlight
Neverwinter Online
Rayman Legends
Trials Fusion
