as for the prediction: I suspect 1.4 million 1st week in Americas. Others is too hard to predict because the release date could be june 6th but also around december.

I think Brawl will beat Halo 3, but it will be close. Others sales will be the key, since I don't see Brawl beating Halo 3's American sales.

If NA does 2.2m and Others 0.8m that would beat Halo 3. Off the top of my head I'd say that is a fair estimate for Brawl ... so, yeah.

It doesn't have to, with Japan's numbers helping already. If Others Brawl sales match Halo 3's numbers, Brawl getting 75% of Halo NA sales would be plenty.

I don't think SSBB will sell more the first week than Halo 3 did because the latter was much better promoted. You couldn't go anywhere without running into a Halo 3 promotion. Hell, they even made a new flavor of Mountain Dew (which was actually pretty good) to go with the release of the game. 7-Eleven made a Slurpee of the Mountain Dew flavor and even took pre-orders for the game. Banks were offering Master Chief promotions.. Nintendo has never been able to manage that sort of hype before.. but I believe they will make the better game and will outsell Halo 3 in the long term.

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
