Forums - Gaming - Do you prefer realistic games or artistic games?

Can't we prefer some of each over others?

^ Oh well we could go all detailed with cell shaded and realistic and some other type of art style.

Eternal Sonata FTW

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

Artistic my friend, Final Fantasy IX by all means does not have to be realistic to remain my favourite FF of all time.

Artistic all the way. Okami and Wind Waker are good examples of why.

Erm...sure. But which art style do you like more? I mean by its art style, not the quality of the game itself.

 But see there are cel shaders that have excellent art styles but the same can be said for games trying to be photorealistic. We can get the best of both worlds.

I prefer photo-realistic games, because they suck you in and make it so you're a part of the game. Artistic games often times have poor art direction and crappy atmosphere (Kingdom Hearts is a prime example of this). There are, however, some genres that work better with an artistic setting -- fighting games, platforming games, hack & slash games -- but photo-realism is the best way to go in most cases.

@total

Cel-shaded = artistic

Photorealistic = Realistic

 No. Twilight Princess attempted at realism as appose to Wind Waker but it had excellent art style.

depends, how it's done. Regardless, it's supposed to make it look beautiful, realistic or not

In realistic aspect

Win

In Artistic aspect
