I enjoy their sports games much more than EA's.... so yes. In fact, they should still release them even if EA decides to support their system again. I think it would be in Nintendo's best interest if they try to release as many games in as many genres as possible. They should give up hope for any real support.
It wouldn't be a bad thing overall, not my thing, but in the end mario sports games just aren't a substitute for the big sports games. The mario themed sports games are all arcade style, by necessity more than anything, whereas the big sports games are simulations, by and large very different experiences.

Nintendo has Super Smash Bros for that. |
no.. super smash isn't really a fighting game. No offence, at least not like MMA. I mean mario with MMA. All smash bros is is king of the hill and nothing more. "knock guy off map and guy on map longest wins" thats not really a fighting game in my book. its fun as hell sure but its king of the hill, not 1 on 1 fighting, and definitly not MMA.

It is the closest you are going to get to a fighting game with Nintendo characters in it. I guess there was Soul Calibur 2 with Link in it.

This ^^^
I've been saying for a while now that Nintendo should do their own realistic sports games. Same goes for a realistic driving game too. They should have had a first party developed racing sim (a Forza/GT killer) and a first party developed FPS game (a Halo/Killzone killer, although not necessarily sci-fi based) available for the Wii U on launch day.
I'd also like to see a boxing sim from them, EA Sports seem to have dropped the Fight Night franchise for some reason.
They should make sport games however, not with Mario. They made Rusty's Real Deal Baseball for the 3ds and I thought it was fun. So they could use that as a starting point.

The funny thing is most people in this thread want to SEE Sports games with Mario in them, but few people are saying they actually want to BUY those games. That's what counts.
They really need to hired Indie developers and make their own official NBA, FIFA, NFL, and MLB games. I've been DYING for a Baseball game thats NOT MLB THE SHOW or MLB 2Kwatever... They are both not as good as MVP Baseball IMHO...
I'd love to see Nintendo's input on a FIFA game too. That would be pretty Epic.
