Of course there'll be a sequel. It's naughty dog's highest selling game since the crash bandicoot days. However, I'll take the news with a grain of salt until we see a confirmation from ND or Sony themselves. Knowing the history of ND, the last of us will be another series from 3 or 4 games. 2016 seems possible since the 1st one was released in 2013, which the sequel 3 years of development, but 2017 is my bet. Don't forget, there's also a film adaptation and I have a feeling the 2nd game will be released around that time.

I'd say their best bet would be jumping ahead 5 or so years and having just Ellie on her own. Then, along with her present day story, drip feed bits of information about what happened to Joel.

It's fairly formulaic, but so was the first game's story. It's the presentation that matters.

I guess that could work as it wouldn't feel right with a cast of all new characters. Although they would have to think a new journey up. But i have trust in Naughty Dog to make a great story again.

Although, i think the last of us is one of those that doesn't need a sequel. A sequel would be nice
