And replace him with who? Andrew House? Don Mattrick?

It would be pleasure if Don Matrick hired as CEO in SONY company....

DRM strikes back.

I'm pretty sure they won't fire Kaz just yet. Aren't his "plans" not supposed to take effect until 2016? I imagine they'll keep him around just to see how it turns out in 2016, but if Sony can't eliminate/minimize losses by then... I dunno, I don't think firing anyone is really going to save Sony if that happens to be honest.

Sony would be in a worst position without Kaz.People seems to forget how bad sony was back in 2006-7.

The true is,Sony never recovered themselves completely from that. But Kaz did a great job minimizing the problem and even profiting at some quarters.

My sports team just sacked its coach A FEW HOURS AGO! So bear with me for a sec.
Both my team and Sony have gone through some problems and while sacking the coach/CEO has no guarantee it definitely shifts the blame and negative stigma to one person, leaving the slate clean for a new start.

....but I miss my old team's coach already....

No. Think of it this way:

Hirai has a plan that has already been set in motion. Any attempts to steer it away from that plan, done by a new CEO who potentially does not understand that plan, will cost Sony precious time (and money).

Time that Sony seems to be lacking.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

People are calling for Iwata's resignation, but Hirai is losing a hell of a lot more money than Nintendo. Kaz better shape up, or Sony needs to let him go (the same goes for Iwata though). Why don't he just sell of some electronic divisions?

Because one is making the best of a bad situation while the other is making the worst of a good situation.

I read an article once where Howard Stringer mentioned it was hard to make changes in Sony because of all the old dogs that are still members of the board (though I can't find the article online) and the way this is going, it sounds like the same old story.

I'm sure you can see how the situations are different. Iwata took Nintendo from high profitability to losses.

Since he was appointed in April 2012, I think it would be premature to fire him so soon. A company as big as Sony takes time to turn around.

Signature goes here!

They'll fire him if they still lose money after spinning off the T.V. and PC business. I think they're doing quite well in their other areas.

This is true.  Execs in Japan would be over ruling anything Stringer did.  Stringer couldn't get anything done, good or bad.  It's different with Kaz since Kaz is Japanese and they'd be listenning to him more in Japan.  You can see this with the changes that Kaz managed to implrement pretty quickly.
