PC only took 36%? Must be dying. :|

Here are the actual unit sales by platform:

Software Units:

PS2: 943,800
PC: 871,200
360: 145,200
PS3: 145,200
NDS: 96,800
WII: 96,800
PSP: 72,600
XBX: 48,400

Finland is strange, this still like the PS2 and love the PC.

Strange ,the DS and PSP are about the same in software sales and the DS sells much better .So we must say DS software sales are abysmal then ?

By the way, you had a typo with the Sims 2 in the double platinum...

And are you sure the totals by platform are right? Since 360 and PS3 have suspiciously similar software numbers, just like DS and Wii.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

PS3 must have a good lead in h/w over 360 in sales, considering 360 was released Dec. 2005 and PS3 in Mar. 2007.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

PC Gaming will never die in Finland, which could also be one of the reasons why 360 will not win here - many consider the 360 to be more or less a PC in a different packing. And without WoW. So why bother when you can pick up a Wii or a PS3 for variety.

But the figures for PS3 and 360 are indeed suspicious. Is Figma the source for those, too?

Well, they didn't count in bundled software (not quite sure about how the PS3 started pack was counted, since in the original bundle, games were took from the shelves) and i don't recall seeing any PSP bundles other than PSP+Tekken (although, i don't know were they counted separately), while DS had bundles throughout the year (not sure did these count). And since those numbers aren't projections, i'd estimate that the list is about 80-90% of the market. One funny take from the article behind the link: So called second generations home consoles are still alive with the PS2 and 3rd generation consoles entered last year and gained some market share. Considering FIGMA is the instance in Finland who should know something about these things... I mean, PS2 is sixth generation, 360, Wii and PS3 seventh and 360 got its release in 2005, Wii in 2006 and PS3 2007, so i'd hardly say "third generation home consoles came out last year".

They're not exact, I just calculated the number of units from the percentages of the total 2,420,000 units sold. PS3 and 360 both had 6% of software units and that works out as 145,200. Obviously figma just round off to the nearest percent, so they're not really exactly the same, but close enough to not really make any difference.

Maybe I should have stated that, but I thought it was obvious from the unit % in the first post how the unit numbers were calculated.
