http://www.geekwire.com/2014/microsofts-xbox-shot-potential-twitch-buyer-matters/ granted it was Amazon that actually ended up with Twitch
Man I'm against this move by MS and all but the bashing of MS in here is getting ridiculous.
A few things
What does this mean for all the Playstation versions of Minecraft, will it still be supported with updates?
Couldn't $2.5 billion be better spent on oh I dunno actually making some good new IPs? Think of how many games could of been made with $2.5 billion
Is Mojang secretely making another game?
If this is all for Minecraft it seems like a waste of money, how are they going to profit from this, everything will likely have a cost now.

i dont think you understand. even if this is for mobile/tablets. its still an epic waste of money.

Seems like a done deal. As a security measure, I recommend buying Minecraft on PS3/PS4 or Android/iOS if you are interested in the game. Not saying MS will pull it, but there's a very good chance they will.

...
This actually puts it in perspective. Lucasfilm was bought for 4B, now that was a deal if I ever saw one. That's more than just Star Wars too.

That's yet to be seen, you have no idea what is planned in the pipeline.
