Forums - Gaming - iPhone 6 Specs 'On Par' With PS4 and Xbox One, Says EA Exec

EA and other publishers are so desperate for mobile gaming to take off that they are willing to lie like this.

lol maybe spec wise! But at what cost? After all the iPhone is like a 1000 dollars/euros and it's still gaming on a touchscreen, no thanks.

But the text says "on part" whatever that means^^

I think he simply means that games on a small iPhone display will look so good that the average Joe won't think anymore "damn console games look so much better" and if an infinity Blade 3 or something like that will really look "much" better as Infinity Blade 2, he may be even right with that. This doesn't mean that the iPhone will have great tesselated stuff or anything like that but many people won't care about that.

What a load of bullocks

No developer would even use that power anyway. They would want their game to run on as many iOS devices as possible.

Hmmm.....

I think you're using the wrong picture sir. Also, the Nexus 4 didn't have 4G LTE in 2012, yet the iPhone 5 did. Video recording and picture quality were also inferior even though it had a quad core CPU and twice the amount of RAM.

OT: EA really needs to just stop letting their executives talk to the media.

To suggest that there are not apps available on android that would do many of those "features" that you deem your iProduct worthy of the massive cost is a bit outrageous. Seeing that rather than staying on the topic of what a phone does and go instead for petty personal insults about Android users, marvelous.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

That's... Definitely not even remotely true.

I keep seeing this "massive cost" argument thrown around but I never understand it. It is as if people think iPhones cost $700, when in fact with a plan something like a Galaxy S5 costs $200 and a iPhone 6 also costs $200. Without a plan the Galaxy S5 costs $799.99 and iPhone 6 without a plan costs $799.99.

iPhones are also no doubt one of the most high quality built phones you can buy , inside and out with the most well optimized OS which in turn causes apps and games to run better on them than any other device, despite their so called "inferior specs". I feel too many people get too caught up looking at specs and not the real world performance of all these devices on the market. Much of these Android devices come packaged with pre-installed bloatware that bogs down performance and they cannot be deleted unless you dabble into the world of rooting. iPhones always comes with a clean OS.

Do yourself a favor and go check the benchmarks for various smartphones and see how iPhone 5s came ahead almost always. Heck there are many benchmarks where the 5S beats out the Galaxy S5. Expect iPhone 6 to be no different, especially in regards to mobile gaming. Android OS will never be as well optimized as iOS can and that is why specs mean very little when comparing any of these devices.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

$799.99 if purchased without a plan and $199.99 with a 2-year contract. Don't want a phone? Just pay $189 and buy an iPod Touch.

So much misinformation thrown around these forums.

ARM based CPU's are no where near as powerful as X86 based CPU's...

The most powerful ARM CPU is about on par with an ATOM CPU, maybe slightly better... but we all know these ATOM CPU's are really utter shit and good for nothing more then running in a netbook or tablet. ARM has NOTHING and I repeat NOTHING that can come close to a low end "i" series CPU or really a mid lvl AMD processor.

ARM has come along way but to even suggest a shitty iphone is on par with a PS4 or XB1 is just crazy and how he keeps his job blows my mind! It's not even close to a 7th gen console. ARM is just does not have it under the hood yet and I can't see that happening any time soon.
