Forums - Gaming - Tekken director wants to make a Xenosaga HD Collection, needs fan support

why wiiu or xbone for that matter? xenosaga is a indirect prequels/sequels to xenogears. to me it doesn't make sense to put xenosaga hd on wiiu unless they also do a xenogears remake....meh we've seen companies to do this before like for the metal gear legacy collection. Ex. only PS3 got MGS4.

Because Nintendo owns the developers who made the Xeno-games. Namco just owns the IP, and it was published for PS2.

Lol, are they seriously going to ride the Blade hype with the worst Xenos in the series? Sorry, I just don't see Xenosaga HD selling well.

I've never played them. I heard 1 and 3 were pretty good.

One was bad in my opinion. 3 was the best and still holds no candle to Blade or Gears. It's just the weakest links in the series according to most. Bad pacing throughout the series and verying quality in combat mechanics is the biggest of many problems.

I've never heard that. Thanks. I have Xenogears btw so I need to get started, huh?

YES! Warning though the first half is WAY better than the second half. They were running into production cost issues and it's very appearent.

I rank Blade best of series due to the consistancy of quality throughout. It's very well paced and has absolutely MASSIVE amounts of content.

Gee, this sounds like the sort of game that will be released either exclusively for Sony systems or as a Sony/Microsoft multiplat. I can't wait to hear about how their PS2 graphics are simply too demanding for the Wii U, or how they don't think the audience for this game is on that system.

I think theres a big cave-eat that Harada is not adressing here. If monolith is involved in it, it will be Wii U exclusive. If namco do the ports independently, then it can come to ps and maybe xbox.

I doubt Monolith will be involved. Specifically because Namco can laugh at them and say, "What, and make this game Wii U exclusive? Forget that."

Namco will most likely do the ports independently of Monolith Soft. If that's the case, 100% chance it's going to PS. 50% chance it goes to XB as well. At that point, I have more confidence in the likelihood of a PC port than a Wii U version.

For the record, I wouldn't make this a Wii U exclusive if it was up to me. It ought to be available to as broad an audience as possible.

There's some backdoor possibility that Monolith owns a part of or all of the original code and game. Bamco only specifically owns the IP.

I completely understand because the original games were on Playstation 2.

With that said, the Xeno fandom should have a Wii U for Xenoblade. So, i think they will be able to strike a good portion of the audience there.

Nintendo seems the most likely candidate for this HD remake, although it would be nice for it to be on PS also.

I think there's a strong argument to be made for both platforms, and I worry that Namco will ignore one of those platforms (Wii U if they do it themselves, PS obviously if they work with Monolith Soft). That's the gist of it. Under the circumstances, both PS and Nintendo gamers should have an opportunity to play this re-release. I've nothing against including Xbox in the fun as well, of course.

I'd rather try Final Fantasy XII though. Come on Square, you know you want to.
