Isn't the 3DS slightly more powerful than the GameCube, which was more powerful than the Dreamcast?

I hope portable gaming hardware stays alive, though. As much as I'd like to play on consoles, they're more expensive and I generally have less time to play around with them.

Sorry but not even close. 90% of the midrange phones today are more powerful than a Dreamcast. The flagship phones are way, way more powerful.

Doesn't matter how powerful phones get. Market forces will still dictate that cheap-looking F2P games dominate on those powerful phones. Apple and Google got their customers too used to not paying for apps.
