So this game sold around 7 million already and probably nearly half of those on PS4. Crazy. We got here a game doing some crazy CoD numbers.

We have no idea how much money Destiny cost. The quoted budget isn't for this game alone but for the franchise over the span of several years.

We also can't really say how much of Destiny's Day One sales are profit. Overhead that doesn't go to Activision has to be taken out of that $500M figure.

Nope it didn't pay for itself yet. Acti only sees a proportion of that money and to break even on $500 million it needs to sell around 12 million or more. If the figure for day 1 is 7 million then they are well on the way but there's a way to go yet.

im looking forward to the weekend to play some Destiny. It has made the days of work feel much longer than normal, its drudgery all day long.

Reviewers didn't get hold of the game til launch like everybody else. So after they play it and then write up the reviews they will probably take a couple of days.

I am not sure... I have reason to believe that there are people who have it from monday.
