So, has Ubisoft made any attempt to push the Wii U version? That is, are they in any way hyping or advertising it? Beyond leaking that it won't have the DLC, is there anything other than the date that they've had to say about it?

No, they're pretty much sending it out to die.

A press release, nothing more. They are too busy advertising Assassin's Creed unity, which most likely will sell millions of units. Building hype for Watch_dogs does not make sense as everybody knows how good/bad it is.

Well, unless Ubisoft try to convince me to take an interest in the game again by actually making some sort of effort, I'm not going to buy it. I'm not asking for a lot - something in the game that justifies the six month delay, a decent trailer showing off the "extra", and perhaps a lower initial price for the game. So far they haven't even done a trailer.

The fact that it'll likely be a technical hackjob makes it even worse.

There was nothing added, the extra time was used only to complete the game as development was stopped for 5 months, from January 2014 till June 2014. Only thing different is Gamepad support as both, remote play and as an interactive map of the city (not sure how much interactive)

They claim that they paused development in January, with the Wii U staff moving over to the other versions to get them done in time. Given that the Wii U version likely had the fewest people working on it, we're talking about just a few extra people working on the other versions. It might have saved them a month, two tops. Then they finished the other versions... wouldn't it have basically taken an extra two months to get the Wii U version done if they had all of the staff work on it from there?

But then, my point is that the CONSUMERS had to put up with a six month delay. I'm asking if WE are getting anything to make up for that. I don't give a shit about whether the delay itself was due to changes in arrangements for development, I care about Ubisoft's attitude towards their customers.

You are not counting effort properly. I will try to use made up numbers to show you what happened.

Lets say 50 persons were working on the Wii U version, mostly engineers fixing bugs, adapting the engine and all that stuff. At the moment of stopping the project in January there was still 100 units of work pending to reach the release date of May (rounded to 5 months of work). They splitted the team and the other teams were able to cram 110 units of work in those 5 months, and the Wii U version still had 100 units pending.

After the May release, the team got back together so again in June we had 50 persons working on the project, and 110 unit of work pending to be completed. That means that they still needed to work at least the same 5 months to complete the pending activities and maybe a little extra if they wanted to incorporate anything extra, even if it was just remote play (which usually takes 1 week of effort). Is not like the after may the other teams would help the Wii U team, they were jsut moved to new projects and/or DLC, which most likely get them more profit that the Wii U edition.

The customers are getting the roughly the same as the other versions, only remote play and interactive map was included. If you feel like is was not woth the wait, the other versions are still available and Ubisoft will get the money any way, and that usually means you can afford the luxury of multiple consoles, so good for you, for those of us who just want to support the console, we are going to enjoy it, as we already know what to expect from it.

I will buy it if it's technically sound. And by that I mean if it perfoms better than the laggy, screen-tearing ridden PS3 version.
V-sync it and keep it above 25fps and I'll bite.

I will buy it even if it is just a static image. The truth is that I am very dissapointed with the Wii U offer for this end of year, there are great games but not much variety, and this is my november purchase, since there is no CoD nor AC for the console this year, and I am really not interested on Smash Bros. If only they brought Fatal Frame...

I'm not into Smash either. And yeah, if only. Man Nintendo pisses me off sometimes... XD

How about Sonic Boom, The Swapper, or Trine Enchanted Edition? They're all coming to Wii U in the next two months. Not on your radar?
