Every phone off-contract is expensive. Not just iPhone.
S5 - 610$ at T-Mobile.
G3 - 598$ at T-Mobile
One M8 - 585$ at T-Mobile.
If anything, the S5 is overpriced. It's made out of purely plastic and has the terrible TouchWiz.

I haven't heard anything, but then again I can't say I actively look for news about it

Galaxies have always been less expensive than iPhones, despite their bigger screens. At least outside the US.

I'm almost positive they used to be less expensive than iPhones in the US, just not anymore. Now they are overpriced hunks of plastic with gimmicky features... huh, they brings to mind another hunk of plastic.
Wow, sub 1080p displays in 2014 on flagship devices?
Shame on Apple.
You're Gonna Carry That Weight.
Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC
I'd love to get it, but I have the iPhone 5 right now and it works perfectly fine. So I'll probably keep my current phone for a couple more years.
As usual really expensive for what they offer. About time they made the screen bigger
There are probably better cameras on other phones though (Thats what i care most about on a phone)
Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Now they have exactly the size they talked so much crap about. Just one or two years after the competition Phone will be nice but if I would believe Apple's own words it should be a no.go for us. |
The decision reflects the difference between Apple under Jobs and a post Jobs Apple. Apple said they weren't going to make a small tablet either under Jobs before the iPad Mini was produced following the shift.
Odd that they stayed with the 4" phones for as long as they did considering that Apple has traditionally been among the first to push new standards (3.5" floppy over 5" floppy, dropping floppy drives well before other PC manufacturers, dropping optical drives before other PC manufacturers, standard Firewire interface for video cameras, etc.).
I think in many cases, Apple's stubbornness in complying with consumer demand for standards set by other designers simply reflects a degree of hubris often affiliated with the company.
Too big.
I want a 4.2" model to substitute my iPhone 5S.
Maybe I need to wait the 6S to see if Apple will see the big mistake not releasing a smaller screen.
