Reviews should be released a few days later. Day 1 reviews are actually joke. This is why guys like angry joe has more credibility than ign.

No there should be review a few days before. No one should be allowed to blindly buy something only to find out 2 days later it was a broken or bad game. Other forms of entertainment has reviews before release dates, but how come players should have to wait.

At least a movie ticket isn't 60 dollars.

Here's an interesting tidbit for you: Movies are, on average, two hours experiences. Games are usually around 10 times that.

You watch a movie, you get all that it has to offer after one sitting. An online game? Nope.

But you know, you can wait for reviews to come out. Nobody is forcing you to "buy it blindly" on the day of its release. ¬_¬

Day one reviews are jokes.

People play one of two hours of the game and give a score? Bullshit... this bad way to review games needs to end.

For example:

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2014/09/08/destiny-first-impressions-awoken-ps4/#/slide/1

The guy played 11 hours of the game and just make a first impressions because he is not confortable to make his reviews yet... he even wants more of swordplay part and at least try all modes and finishe the main campaing.

That is how you do a review.

There were lots of alpha and beta tests, pretty sure you can search them up and form your own opinion.

If lack of content is really a problem, a partial review wouldn't cover it, so it would be useless.

Reviews themselves are a joke. I mean, do you really need someone to tell you if you're going to like something? I've read rave reviews for games and totally hated the game and vice versa. Are people going to cancel their Destiny pre-orders now that there are no day 1 reviews?

If I'm not sure about a game, I like reviews. It helps me decide on if I'll get a game or not.

you had an alpha and a beta to make a decision.

Some people need some over the internet to tell them that a game they've already played is worth buying or not.

Ironically, if you played in the alpha or the beta, you've played the game longer than this reviewer has.

I don't really care. Bungie hasn't done a very good job on selling me on what the game actually is for me to have even been remotely interested in the beta. It looks like Borderlands but without an interesting setting, story, and characters. It's very hard to sell me on a shooter when you don't have those things, as I'm generally not interested in them in the first place.

I'm actually happy that we haven't seen horribly rushed day one reviews of Destiny on Metacritic.

Hopefully this becomes a trend and in the future, reviewers actually will consider taking their time into reviewing a game properly.

Unless what they're trying to hide is that there isn't much endgame content, which is exactly what the leak awhile back suggested. Pretty sure the leak said there were just 2 raids.

Then the leak was wrong.
