Im confused, in what sense inter-racial?  You mean, bestiality like humans mating with monkeys?

Because there are no human races.  

Prior to slavery that brought in the notion of 'race', humans didnt think that way.

See MOORS which was a group of people of all persuasion. 

So your question is based on being influenced by outdated racist concepts.

"Full of themselves" is a key phrase you just coined for this thread.  From what I understand, it was more of an issue of pride than "race."  And as we all know whether you believe in God or not, God cannot be reached by building a tall tower.  So the people of the time thought they could be as great as God, and one reason why was by trying to physically reach him which they were all wrong to begin with.  So when God confounded the languages, it halted production.  And nowhere in the Bible has God denied "interracial" relations just because of physical differences.

The 2 bases of most religions is dogma and ignorance. Therefore people hate what they don't understand, which if you're religious is most things including homosexuality.

Your first statement is just stupid. There are many men and women who start a relationship without wanting to have kids or without even being able to have kids. Reasons include: pleasure, companionship, stability, and the ability to divide labor within a household.

All sex is arguably disgusting and disease-spreading.

Man we were doing so well. Precise clever posting and then this. Not only is it insulting to same sex couples but also those who cannot have children naturally. Who would have thought friendship and companionship are needed right? Or get this, thinking outside the box a little, they love each other. These are reasons enough for people to get together regardless of gender.

Well, the texts Leviticus and Romans both speak against homosexuality. So Jews or Christians who cleave to these texts must be opposed to homosexuality. Why someone believes in thousands-year old fairy tales or the invisible sky wizard, though, I'm not sure.

I believe there are also prohibitions on men having long hair and wearing fabric made from two kinds of threads. There are prescriptions to stone adulterers. I don't know anyone who follows these. I guess they don't really believe.

You are correct. Aparently god told us to spread our seed over the world and spread the word. So since its a choice to be gay, its a choice to not spread our seeds and thats against god.

But on a side note you most will find intersting. Did you know that its bad if a man laid with another man, but its ok for a women to do it if its with another man? Since back in the time men where able to have multyple wifes, as long as they where with a man they could be lesbians. So it seems like in most religions, that men can get away with their fantasys if your straight, and women even if they where not gay they still had to do stuff to please their man back in the day, so then it was ok in the eyes of god.

I like to consider my self a god loving and understanding man, but I will not belive or spread the false opresive and loose morals found in the bible. I think most of it is good, but there are just a few storys and rules that are ovbious to me that dont belong in the bible and are causing the world to see this relion in a bad way even if most dont aplly to their lives the teachings of a 3000+ year old book(parts at least are).

let me add to your comments some facts.How  eva and adam perpetuated the human race?did she have an incest with her son,the story implies that she had oh...?the story of eva and adam is before dinosaurs or after? I m religionless,i believe in god and jesus etc...but not in religion!Also masturbation is prohibited but all the self-named cristians masturbate...so it is way hypocritical someone dissapprove  homosexuality reliant to religion...

Also, it is written somewhere that Religous people are not supposed to be "Gay " ( not trying to be disrespectful for saying this).

So I am assuming, that the only reason any government ever even outlawed same sexes from marrying is because of religous reasons. We pretty much know this.

Can we assume the same for racial problems as well? And if so, then why is one allowed by most Christian Based religions and not the other?

Homosexuality is specifically condemned in the Bible, pretty clearly, on more than one occasion. However, in the Bible noone is ever commanded to hate gays, or treat them poorly. The activity is comdemned (like fornication, lying, etc) but  people who go beyond that and show hatred to gays aren't acting in a christian manner. Now as far as interracial marriages, they weren't comdemned in the Bible. People were warned, on occasion, against marrying foreigners, but this was on the basis of marrying someone of a different faith, not race. 

So in short, racial problems are due to people being awful to one another, not religion. Through all eras, those who truly embraced Christian morals would not have looked down on other races. 


I always avoid thread like these but once in awhile there's a golden post like this!

do not know if you practice any religious faith or not but this is what I soley believe when it comes to homosexuality, and wish more people of my faith would also believe.

I was actually going to reply with something similar to this, but someone beat me to it.

I've noticed a lot of atheists tend to base reglion from the people who follow it instead of what the religion actually promotes. From there, they formulate their own conclusions, and this is very sad. We're living in a world where ignorance is encouraged.
