Forums - Sales - XB1 Chinese Pre orders in the region of 30k~

Shamelessly borrowed from gaf:

Another China thread.
Another bunch of things to answer.

Who knows. There's really nothing we can compare with.
So realistically we'll have to see how Sony sells later this year/early next to see if it's good.

However, to give the numbers some context, the following is the estimated pre-order total for some major retailers as of 08/13/2014:

Sunning is the 5th retailer down the list.
So as 08/13, the kinect version sat at 10741 units and the non-kinect version at 1991.
Accounting for the current changes of 12,800 preorders on the kinect version and 2,800 on the non-kinect..
That's an increase of 2059/809 units for the past 20 days.

Note: the chart above does not include online orders directly with MS or subsidized models through cable deals.

Good, bad? who knows.

I would say they've been having decent ad campaigns.
More than the Europe effort, so it seems.

It's the whole country.
You can just go to any b2c site and see where they can ship to (everywhere.)

It's just that the Shanghai FTZ is the only area where SONY/MS are allowed to import/assemble/package atm. That and they're pretty much forced to partner with subs of Shanghai media group (government owned.)

Since launch and at one time below US MSRP prices.
Prices for grey market consoles actually went up recently due to the region-locking news for official consoles driving up some demand.

There are CRPGs, just like there are KRPGs, VietRPGs, etc.

Trust me, most of them are of poor quality.

That and western publishers has been smart enough to buy up good Chinese talents anyway.

The import quota is currently 500K units, and no one believes they'll sell or ship 500K ininitial shipment.

hmmm, this is going to be an interesting market to watch for sure.

Agreed, China will hopefully (by next generation) becom a decent market for home consoles. Also 30k is pretty solid, might be able to get 50-60k launch week. Now the question is if VGChartz will track it

They better, I want to see a certain someone lose their bet and China can definantly help him lose.

Wonder what the weekly sales will be afterwards.

I can see it being around 5-10k. Of course I am talking out my ass.

I hope so. If we end up having another 6th gen now, then the market will be big enough for the others to at least achive 40m and garanty a next gen. Since they are partnerd with Big retailers and the goverment I see no reason that it should be hard to tracked. Even if they just add it to an asia colum unstead than japan and china separetly.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Not bad. It probably will never reach 5m units over there.

Super interested in seeing how console gaming gets along in China. Hope that they came become a market as big/vibrant as the UK

It will be interesting to see how both systems perform in China. I say both cause I can't remember if the Wii U is launching there or not. And if these numbers are accurate AND sales stay steady, I can definitely see China having higher sales for the One than Japan. The same may be true for the PS4, as well.

Good numbers for a country such as china were pc seems to dominate. We could be seeing a 100k+ week for xbox one this september, maybe even a 200k+ week.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

I know that only one big retailer asosiated with the goverment has the x1. Does that mean they are the primary and sole salesrep? If so, does this mean that one retailer is selling to other retailes wich it inflates sales, but it actually is sitting on shelfs? Kinda like 2 tier contrys have done before the official launch, buying from tier 1 countrys but still end up sitting on shelfs. This worrys me if that is what actually hapening, and china might be a smaller market then I thought. I hope my suspicions are wrong, I really want the market to increase.

Good start now after all those Chinese games start rolling out then sales should increase. I have more faith in China than Japan.
