But I've been so busy ignoring his bullshit that another post suggesting that he's been let go from his most prominent PR pedestal might be true, if only to minimise fallout from all recent drama relating to conflicts of interest.

Yeah, Pachter's a complete joke. His analyses about the gaming industry are almost always wrong, so I'm not sure why people still think he's somehow relevant.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Personally, I thought the wiimote/ps move was great for shooters. The wiimote worked like a dream on RE4! Unfortunate that so many people dismissed it as a gimmick...

Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go replay RE4 for the 20th time.

Thoughts? Is Patcher

Pachter thinks very short term (drop hardware, release on mobile) and while he loves Nintendo's games, he just doesn't want the console to play them on. He has a voice and if people want to listen they will, and Pachter's ideas and Nintendo's strategy don't correlate. On third party stuff he is generally right and with the Sony and Microsoft I think he slightly prefers MS, but with Nintendo I think he just sees them as another Atari or Sega, but I believe in Nintendo and I buy their products (something he calls Nintendo fans on.) I think leaving the hardware market would be a bad idea long term and I don't even want to think about what it would do short term. The games are coming and smash is around the corner. I know third parties are pretty much gone now but with Smash, indies, and other Nintendo games I think Nintendo can get out of this hole they are in.

Every so often, at the hospice he's confined, he gets some visitors (go figure). Then, people can't help but quote him. 

I'm not sure GC was "fall flat" since it was still profitable... the only profitable console of its gen.

Someone is always bound to drag Pachter back again. Probably because he likes to troll game nerds.
