Forums - Nintendo - Shigeru Miyamoto Flipped The Tea Table with Hyrule Warriors

If only we had Takashi Tekuza dealing with the Zelda franchise...But we got stuck with Aonuma and Miyamoto's decisions.

Tekuza co-directed the first Legend of Zelda on Nes, he directed A link to the past on SNES and almost completely without Miyamoto's feedback, Link's Awakening on Gameboy.

I think that was a good choice. We don't want a bad zelda game but we do want a good dynasty game

Its been pre-ordered already, I heard it won't have online CO-OP play though, just local. :-/ Still game looks fantastic!

that's kind of a bummer for me. I actually got excited for this game because i've always wanted a zelda game that was A) a co op multiplayer and B) a game that focused on the secondary characters we've never played as. I did still want it to be a zelda game at heart. Don't get me wrong; i still feel lucky that i've even gotten this close to my wish. But, it's such a tease that i almost got exactly what i wanted.

Is that supposed to be Miyamoto hitting a child? That's just not very nice.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

I guess its good that we get to try new things... but I'm very curious how it could have been.

HOWEVER my preferences as a gamer aside, Miyamoto is right to want them to make a game with a formula that works and enrich it rather than giving them Zelda and letting them make, in essence, a knock off. It was an unusually conservative design decision for such a mad-man... but as someone with some design knowledge myself I'd say it was the right one.
