Forums - Gaming - Microsoft Mocks Sony With "Destiny Fragrance"

I still don't agree with that. If it's bad for Microsoft to do, it's also bad that Sony is doing it. Just because Microsoft is notorious for doing it doesn't make it acceptable when your favored company does it.

And, as far as I've heard, Sony has exclusive publishing rights for Destiny in Japan, but no one is getting their pitchforks sharpened over it. They're too busy hating on Microsoft for the Tomb Raider debacle. Both are ultimately bad for the consumer and the only ones 'winning' are Sony and Microsoft.

You're not getting what he is saying. Both companies doing it is wrong but Sony didn't take the mick out of MS for advertising CoD all the time on Xbox only.

And Destiny being translated for Xbox in Japan just wouldn't be worth it financially for Activision. Neither Sony or MS are winning in the TR case.

Hmm, pie.

The sad repsonses in this thread remind me why I decided to avoid VGC for the most part.

This is fun and doesn't hurt anybody. That is it.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Microsoft is just trying to help advertising the game, like back then when they almost single handedly advertised FFXIII, don't be so negative about it people, it worked out for Sony then too.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Microsoft aren't really mocking Sony, it is more poking fun at Bungie/Activision. And whats wrong with that? Sony should have done it for COD as well, why not? It's all in good fun and helps the games sell better.

No, they are mocking the situation, which is the hypocrisy part. I'm trying to explain what celador meant. I think this is funny, I'm all for it as long as it highlights the rediculousness of advertising deals.

But then they exist, no stopping that. Sometimes I see an advert that ends 'Out Now at GAME', when we know all other retailers have it too, it just comes with the industry.

Hmm, pie.

I don't like the Microsoft brand at all and am committed to never getting and Xbone... That said, I feel like there's a little bit of hypocrisy going on in these forums.

Sony takes a jab at Microsoft - Clever and understands their audience
Microsoft takes a jab at Sony - Butthurt, sore losers

The only hyporcisy is from MS

Sony took a jab at MS for doing something no-one wanted and trying to shove it down people's throats

MS are taking a jab at Sony for something they practically invented in the console space and have been doing for years

Anybody on here whos seen me post knows xbox is my least favorite console, but clearly this is a joke and a funny one at that. I highly doubt they expect big sales from this and sony and bungy/activision are probably laughing about this.

What sony have done before, at least the jabs during both E3 events, they where a lot more harsh. It was ovbiously our console is better. This seem like its just we wanted to do it to, so its worlds apart.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Microsoft needs something to cover up their own stink and the stink of their most ardent followers. Not happening.

Giving away free games during Destiny week, this sad thing, what other desperate act will they pull out next?

Thanks jlmurph!
